Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Policy explains how Lukata Limited, the operator of Noveldora.com, handles personal information when you browse, read, buy coins or contact us. It also explains how to contact us about your information.

1. Information we collect

  • Reader and session information: a generated reader ID, guest account status, session identifiers, browser user-agent information and session activity dates. You do not need to provide an email address to start reading.
  • Reading and wallet activity: books in your library, saved reading positions, unlocked chapters, automatic unlocking preference, coin balances and transaction history.
  • Purchase information: order reference, chosen coin pack, amount, currency, payment provider, payment reference and transaction status. Payment details entered into a provider’s checkout are handled by that provider; Noveldora does not receive your full card number or card security code.
  • Messages you send: your email address, contact details and the information or attachments you include when contacting support, making a rights request or reporting infringement.
  • Technical information: browser and device information and request data, such as IP address, requested pages, timestamps and error information, processed by the website and its infrastructure to deliver and protect the service.

Reader preferences and recent searches can also be stored in your browser. See our Cookie Policy for details. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in support messages.

2. How and why we use information

  • Recognize your reader session and provide your library, progress, wallet and chapter access.
  • Process and reconcile payments, deliver purchased coins, handle refunds and maintain transaction records.
  • Respond to enquiries, investigate reported problems and handle privacy or copyright requests.
  • Protect accounts and the website, prevent fraud, troubleshoot errors and enforce our Terms.
  • Meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations and establish or defend legal claims.

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performance of our agreement with you for service delivery, legal obligations for required records, and legitimate interests for proportionate security and support activities. Where consent is required for an additional purpose, we will request it separately. We do not treat acceptance of the Terms as consent to unrelated marketing.

3. When information is shared

We share information with service providers only as needed for hosting, technical operations, payment processing and support. Payment providers, such as Stripe or PayPal where offered at checkout, also handle information under their own privacy notices. We may provide necessary transaction information to investigate fraud, payment disputes or refund requests.

Information may be disclosed where required by law or a valid legal request, to protect legal rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your personal information. Support correspondence is not published as a public reader profile.

4. International processing

Our operator is based in Hong Kong. Service providers may process information in other countries, where privacy rules may differ from those where you live. When transferring personal information, we take the safeguards required by applicable law, including contractual protections where required. Contact us if you need information about safeguards relevant to your data.

5. Retention and security

We retain reader information for as long as needed to provide your account and purchased access. Support records are retained as needed to resolve enquiries and related disputes. Payment and accounting records may need to be kept after account closure to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud or address claims. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for these purposes.

We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration or loss. No online service can guarantee complete security. Protect your device and report suspected account misuse to [email protected].

6. Your choices and privacy rights

You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to deletion, a portable copy, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing or withdrawal of consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Send a request to [email protected] or write to our address below. Describe your request and include your reader ID if it concerns an account. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law. Never send your session token or full payment credentials.

If you are concerned about our response, you may contact your local data protection authority or the Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.

7. Account and data deletion

To request deletion, email [email protected]. We will verify the request and explain any information that must be retained for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes. Closing an account can remove access to its saved library, progress, coins and unlocked chapters. Account deletion does not itself request or guarantee a refund; please raise purchase concerns before closing the account.

Clearing browser storage removes information from your device, but does not delete records already held by Noveldora. It can also disconnect you from a guest account, so contact us before clearing cookies if you need help identifying your account.

8. Children’s information

Noveldora is not intended for children under 13 or the higher minimum age required where they live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate steps. Parents and guardians should supervise eligible minors’ use and purchases.

9. External services and policy updates

External websites and payment providers have their own privacy practices. Review their notices when using their services. This Policy applies to information handled by Noveldora.

We may update this Policy when the service or legal requirements change. The revision date appears above. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes and obtain consent where required.
