Chapter 5
In the end, Felicia was taken to the emergency room by the nurses.
After that, Wally didn't visit her at all. Even on the day she was discharged, she had to check herself out alone.
Wally had always given her the cold shoulder, calling it punishment and making her reflect on her mistakes.
Back then, Felicia truly believed she wasn't good enough.
Now, she finally got it. It was never about her not being good enough.
Wally had never cared about her, not from the very beginning.
The car made its way straight to the villa.
Once Felicia stepped out, she saw a row of packed suitcases lined up outside.
She frowned. Then, someone from inside came out carrying a bag.
"What are you all doing?" Felicia asked.
The maid paused, looking a bit flustered. "Mrs. Norris, Mr. Norris said to move your stuff to another apartment.
"Miss Norris gets scared whenever she sees you."
Felicia felt a chill in her chest. She pointed at the broken photo album tossed in the trash. "So what does this mean?"
The maid hesitated for ages before finally saying, "Miss Norris freaks out whenever she sees pictures of you and Mr. Norris.
"He told us to get rid of all of them. Some were even burned."
A surge of emotions hit Felicia, too tangled and bitter to put into words.
Felicia stood in the sprawling courtyard, staring at the row of suitcases by the door.
Inside, the staff was still packing up. Everything that had ever belonged to her and Wally was being thrown out like trash.
She remembered those photos. They were snapshots from every trip she and Wally had taken together over the years.
Wherever they traveled, Wally would propose to Felicia all over again, never missing a chance.
He used to say, "Felicia, I'll make sure you're never second to anyone."
But now, he threw all those photos away and even burned some.
Felicia watched as two people carried a large glass box filled with all her handmade crafts.
Without a second thought, they tossed it straight into the trash.
"No..." Felicia pleaded.
Everything inside shattered, and her heart splintered right along with it.
There was a year when Felicia got really into making crafts.
Wally worked overtime for a whole week so he could free up time to join her for crafting sessions.
She never seemed to get it right. There was one star figurine she adored, but it came out ruined after firing.
Wally never told her it was broken.
Instead, he snuck back to the studio and spent the whole night making a perfect replica. That was the time he ended up in a car accident because of it.
He said to her, "I can't stand seeing you upset. Even if I had to do it all over again, I'd still go. Anything that makes you happy is worth it."
But now, that star figurine was shattered and tossed in the trash.
Felicia snapped back to herself, feeling the cold wetness on her face. When she reached up, she found her cheeks streaked with tears.
Five years of love turned out to be so fragile.
Without even realizing it, Felicia clenched her fists.
Then she wiped away her tears, packed a few clothes into her suitcase, grabbed her ID, and turned to leave.
"Mrs. Norris, what about all this stuff?" the maid called after her.
Felicia looked at all her belongings scattered across the floor, let out a sigh, and said, "Throw it all away."
If Wally didn't want any of it, then neither did she.
This relationship was cut off completely, clean and final.
After leaving the villa, the car drove toward the apartment.
The driver took a call during the ride, but Felicia was resting with her eyes closed and didn't notice a thing.
When the car stopped, Felicia blinked awake, opened the door, and got out.
The next moment, a familiar, shrill voice cut through the air.
Emma suddenly rushed over, grabbing Felicia's hand. "She's the one who hit your son. It has nothing to do with me.
"She's the owner of this car. Your son got hit by her, not me.
"She's trying to frame me, I swear it wasn't me."
"Bring my son back!" a woman wailed, her voice cracking with grief.
Felicia noticed Emma frowning beside her. She glanced back and saw a pool of blood in front of her car. Someone was lying there, not moving at all.
"Emma, what the hell are you talking about? I just got here!"
Felicia jerked her hand away, looked forward, and saw someone sprawled on the ground, drenched in blood, totally out cold.
Both the ambulance and police showed up at the same time. People hurried out of their vehicles, and the boy was carried onto the ambulance.
The next moment, the police approached her.
"Please come with us to the station," one of the officers said.
"Me?" Felicia looked confused. "I just got here. I don't know anything. The driver saw everything. He can back me up..."
But when she turned around, Felicia saw the driver already standing next to Emma.
Her heart sank, and in that instant, she realized what was really going on.
"This is your car, and there are several witnesses who claim they saw you hit him," the officer said.
"Witnesses?" Felicia repeated.
Then, Wally spoke up.
"The accident was my wife's fault. There's dashcam footage to prove it," he said coldly.
