Chapter 2
Emily was so upset that she had an early delivery, giving birth to a baby boy.
Fortunately, the baby was already nine months along and was healthy and strong, so he didn't need any special care.
Olivia walked up to the hospital room, wanting to confront Andrew and get some answers. But before she could go in, she saw the room was packed with people.
"Good thing we saw the group chat and knew Emily went into labor suddenly. We rushed over right away."
"Emily, Andrew is head over heels for you. He dropped a deal worth billions because you were about to give birth."
"He knows you've been craving cake, so he told us to get you a huge one. It's already on its way to Moonstar Bay."
"Andrew, you're living the dream. You and Emily have been together for two years, and now you've got a baby. You can finally relax."
Andrew was holding the baby, smiling softly. "Yeah, it's been tough on Emily."
Andrew's buddies were all hanging out in the room, chatting with Emily as if they'd known her forever. They had a group chat and prepared a little gift for her.
Moonstar Bay was Andrew and Emily's home. Each villa there was worth over 30 million dollars. It was something ordinary folks could only dream of.
What hurt Olivia the most was that they'd been together for two years, and she hadn't had a clue.
Her fingers curled into fists at her sides. When she was about to push the door open, she saw Emily grab the vase from the bedside table and hurl it at Andrew.
Andrew dodged in time. The vase smashed against the wall, shattering into pieces. The fresh roses inside were crushed. "Andrew. Be honest with me. What exactly is your relationship with Olivia?
"Why did she call you honey? Why did she say I was the one who seduced you? If you don't come clean today, I'm taking the baby and leaving you for good tomorrow."
For a moment, the whole hospital room went dead silent.
Andrew sighed, gently put the baby back in the bassinet, and softly wiped Emily's tears. "Hey, you just had our baby. Why are you crying? Olivia is my ex-wife. We split up a year ago.
"You're the one I love most. How could I let you have our child without marrying you first?"
"Really?" Emily shot him a skeptical look. "Then why did she say she was divorcing you?"
Andrew's buddies all chimed in to defend him.
"Emily, you don't trust Andrew? You two are already married. We all witnessed it. There's no way he could be lying to you," one of them said.
"Guess Olivia's got a bad memory. She probably forgot she already divorced Andrew. After all, with a guy as great as Andrew, it's not like she could find someone better," another added.
"Then why didn't you tell me sooner?" Emily said, her voice full of hurt. "So it was all on purpose, wasn't it?
"She wanted to make sure I could never have a baby. She's an OB-GYN, and she's so vicious. If it weren't for her, I never would have gone into labor early.
"Andrew, throw her out of this hospital. I don't want to see her working as a doctor again."
Andrew stayed silent.
Emily started crying harder. "You won't do it? Are you still hung up on her? Fine, be with her. Andrew, I'm divorcing you. Don't think about seeing the baby or me ever again."
"Alright, I promise," Andrew said, pulling her into his arms, his voice gentle and patient. "I'll take care of it right away. Take some rest, okay?"
Finally, someone noticed Olivia standing by the door and called out in a panic, "Olivia!"
"You bitch! What are you doing here? Get out," Emily snapped, her emotions flaring up the moment she saw Olivia. "Are you here to hurt my baby? You're disgusting. Andrew already divorced you, but you won't let him go. You have no shame."
Olivia let out a cold laugh. She looked up at Andrew. "Andrew, tell me. Are we divorced?"
As Andrew kept comforting Emily, he said flatly, "Yes, we're divorced. Olivia, you need to accept reality."
A sharp pain stabbed deep into Olivia's heart. Seeing Andrew's cold, heartless face, she finally understood everything. It was over between her and Andrew.
With everyone watching her, Olivia left the hospital room. She had barely taken a few steps when someone caught her by the wrist.
Andrew came running after her and pulled her into his arms. "I'm sorry, Olivia. I never wanted to hurt you. You saw what happened. Emily gave birth, and she's unstable right now. I can't risk upsetting her any further."
"Let go of me. Andrew, let go." Olivia struggled desperately, but no matter how hard she fought, she couldn't break free.
Andrew held her so tightly as if he never wanted to let her go. "I'm not letting go, Olivia. You're the only one I love, my real wife. I'll never let you go.
"The marriage license with Emily is fake. We're the real thing. I only did it so she'd go through with the pregnancy. Do you get it?"
"Let go of me," Olivia yelled, shoving him away and slapping him hard across the face. "Andrew, do you know what I was going through last night while you were with her in bed?
"I was lying on an operating table, having IVF surgery. Do you have any idea how terrified I was and how much it hurt? All I wanted was to see you when I woke up, but you weren't there.
"When I got home, you were gone, too. I thought you were working late, but you were with her."
Olivia broke down, sobbing uncontrollably. "You said you didn't care about having kids, so why are you with her? Why are you treating me like this?"
Seeing her cry, Andrew felt his heart twisted with pain. "Do you know how much pressure Mom put on me? I had no choice but to have a child. Emily was chosen by her, not by me.
"She wanted a grandson, and I had to give her what she wanted so she wouldn't make things hard for you."
Olivia froze. "Your mom knew? She was the one who arranged everything?"
Andrew let out a heavy sigh, regret written all over his face. "Yeah, she wanted Emily gone after the baby was born. She's still in college and needed the money, so she ended up with me for the cash.
"Right now she's taking a break from school. Once she goes back, you can take care of the baby then.
"I don't love her. I didn't want Mom to keep making things hard for you, and I couldn't stand seeing you go through that damn IVF again. Olivia, I know this is all on me. Whatever you want, I'll make it happen for you, alright?"
At that moment, Olivia's heart softened. "I want you to leave her right now and give me the baby to raise."
Andrew's face went completely pale. He let go of her, his eyes darting away. "She's been with me for two years, and she gave me a son. Olivia, you can't be so heartless."
He paused and then continued, "I'll keep her as a mistress outside. You'll always be Mrs. Walker. I swear she'll never touch your status in the Walker family. You'll always be my one and only wife."
Olivia met Andrew's steady gaze and couldn't find any words. She could see it now. He was in love with Emily. 'If that's the case, what else is there to say?' she thought.
