Chapter 3
Vivian feigned ignorance. "Cassandra, are you really paranoid? I'm just pregnant, what harm could I do?
"Are you jealous because I'm pregnant and now acting pitiful to get Sebastian's attention?
"If you admit you're acting, I'll stop eating now.
Hearing her order greasy, spicy junk food made my stomach churn, and I nearly cried admitting it.
"Fine, yes! I'm acting. Please stop!"
But Sebastian's angry voice blared, "Cassandra, I'm so disappointed."
Vivian laughed out loud and hung up the call.
After violent vomiting, I used my last strength to call 911.
The ambulance arrived just in time, and I woke up after eight hours unconscious.
This time, pregnancy sickness caused me to go into shock from dehydration.
Even after reviewing my records, the doctor couldn't find what was wrong.
"We've done every test, endoscopy, blood work, but found nothing. Any idea what's happening?"
I didn't answer. I just told the doctor to discharge me and rushed home to confront the real culprit.
I pressed a knife to Vivian's throat the moment I saw her.
"Cassandra, what the hell are you doing?" she stammered, panic in her voice.
I was done with games. I glared at her belly.
"I don't have time for this. Why are all your pregnancy side effects on me?"
Vivian looked hurt. "Cassandra, what are you talking about? Are you paranoid?"
I pressed the knife to her belly. "Cut the act! Spill it!"
She screamed, "Okay, I'll tell you!"
In the next second, she cried, "Sebastian, help me!" looking pure and helpless.
Sebastian surprised me, grabbed the knife, and kicked me in the chest.
"Cassandra, you dare touch Vivian? Are you suicidal?" he shouted.
Agatha stormed over and slapped me hard.
"Damn it, you little slut! I thought you were acting like an adult, but you were plotting behind my back!" Agatha yelled.
"How dare you threaten my grandson? I'll beat you badly!"
Sebastian and Agatha called the cops, saying I needed teaching.
In front of the cops, Sebastian played the recording of that night with Vivian at the barbecue.
"Sir, my wife says Vivian is transferring her pregnancy symptoms to her, but she admits she's just jealous and wants my attention," Sebastian said.
"And today she threatened Vivian with a knife. She's dangerous, arrest her now!"
The cops doubted Sebastian until they heard my clear voice on the recording.
"Fine, yes! I'm acting, okay?" They quickly changed and cuffed me.
An officer sternly said, "Really? All this mess just from jealousy? That's crazy!"
I struggled to explain, but saw Vivian smirking while eating the peanut.
A violent allergic reaction gripped my throat, choking me instantly.
My limbs twitched uncontrollably, my vision blacked out, and I could only tremble and beg for help.
But Sebastian snorted, unfazed.
"See? She's just putting on a show! Perfect timing, you can all see it!" Sebastian sneered.
I clenched my fists and threw myself into the female cop's arms.
"I'm not faking it. Please, just get me to a hospital," I pleaded, my voice fading.
The female cop saw I was pale and knew something was wrong. She rushed to help me.
Sebastian and Agatha blocked the door, demanding I apologize to Vivian first.
"If you ever hurt Vivian again, I'm divorcing you," Sebastian snapped.
I blacked out completely.
When I woke in the hospital, the doctor looked baffled, scratching his head.
He couldn't understand how I had an allergic shock when all tests were clear.
He suggested I see a psychiatrist.
I bitterly chuckled and asked for sleeping pills and painkillers.
The doctor was stumped and just gave me a pile of meds.
The cops saw it as a domestic dispute and took no charges.
I'll pack a few things and stay at my folks' place for a while.
My parents supported me, took me to many tests, and when none showed issues, urged me to rest patiently.
I nodded to rest, but a sharp pain struck my lower abdomen.
It felt like invisible hands tore my uterus, and blood poured out.
I instinctively searched Vivian's social media and found her promoting herself as a single hot mom and starting a weight-loss livestream.
In the video, she danced in a tight waist trainer, her five-month baby bump bouncing with her moves.
"If you're not skinny, men won't love you. Even pregnant, stay in shape."
I doubled over, clutching my aching stomach, trembling with rage and wishing I could rip her apart.
Right then, my phone buzzed with a call from an unknown number.
Suddenly, everything made sense and I saw the truth.
