Chapter 2
Sebastian didn't expect my maturity and the words he was about to say died in his throat.
Even Agatha and Vivian stood frozen, shocked.
I dashed out and ran straight to the supermarket five kilometers away.
I returned, arms full of bags, to Vivian's tight frown.
She rummaged through the plastic bags, picking out snacks with annoyance.
"Cassandra, I asked for Extra-Stinky Nachos, not mild. Why did you get the wrong kind?" she complained.
"I wanted peanut butter cheesecake, but you brought strawberry. Are you trying to annoy me?"
I ignored her whining and stared at her belly.
On the way back, I had taken a full bottle of abortion pills.
I wanted to see if she was affected by what I did.
But she didn't even flinch.
Did I take enough pills?
Just as I grew suspicious, Vivian grinned wickedly. "Cassandra, you didn't care about what I said, did you?"
She whined, playing the victim. "It's all my fault. I only found out I was pregnant after Julian died. If I knew you hated me this much, I wouldn't have kept the baby!"
Suddenly, she began hitting her belly like she was crazy.
A sharp pain tore through my stomach.
She was doing this on purpose!
I gritted my teeth and looked genuinely sorry.
"Vivian, I remembered your peanut allergy from pregnancy, so I switched to strawberry for you.
"You're pregnant; an allergy could harm the baby. Julian left you only this child, don't be reckless!"
Hearing me, Agatha recalled her late son Julian and urged Vivian to relax.
Agatha said I was thoughtful and considerate.
Vivian played the victim, but Sebastian, worried about the baby, told her to calm down and stop causing trouble.
"Cassandra's looking out for you and the baby. Hang in there. After the baby's born, I'll take you out for anything you want," Sebastian said, calming her.
Seeing them so lovey-dovey made me sick. I ran to the bathroom and took another full bottle of abortion pills.
But Vivian didn't even bat an eye.
Damn, this effect only works one way.
Sebastian cooked extra-stinky nachos for Vivian and fed her strawberry cheesecake.
Since I changed everything, the morning sickness was much milder than before.
I didn't have anaphylactic shock from the Peanut Butter Cheesecake.
Finally able to breathe, I went back to my room to crash, exhausted.
Even after lying down, I couldn't sleep.
Before I realized it, Vivian could mess with me anytime.
As I tried to break free, my stomach churned and I vomited hard.
My puke had blood and bile streaks.
Vomiting violently, dizzy, I wondered if I'd eaten something bad.
I suddenly grabbed my phone and scrolled through Vivian's social media.
She went out alone for barbecue, proudly showing her pregnant belly.
She recorded a video bragging about it.
"Preggo's craving, so I snuck out for a treat." she captioned.
Vivian smiled, holding a crispy bull fries skewer and an ice-cold Coke.
I was stuck with plain food, nonstop morning sickness, sweating, and misery.
Seeing that, rage boiled up inside me and I dialed Vivian without a second thought.
She answered, feigning ignorance with a fake, sweet voice, classic manipulation.
"Oh wow, Cassandra, why are you up so late? I'm enjoying barbecue, so don't bother me unless it's urgent," she said casually.
"And hey, keep this little secret from Agatha for me, okay? You know she loves to meddle."
Before she finished, I growled, "Vivian, what did you do? Why am I suffering all these symptoms now that you're pregnant?"
She ignored me and ordered more crispy bull fries.
The nausea hit so hard I vomited nonstop and barely stood.
