The next morning, Edward finished packing and knocked on the master bedroom door.

"Claire, we're leaving. Take care of yourself while we're gone," he said.

But all he got in return was a silence as cold as death.

Usually, the moment he called out, Claire would dash out barefoot and wrap her arms around him.
