Synopsis

Dad asked me to go undercover at one of our branch offices as Executive Assistant to the CEO. My second day on the job, I got stuck at the security gate. A spoiled-looking figure strutted out, wearing an outfit almost identical to mine. "Lynn, we're dressed way too alike today. Are you trying to get Stephen to mix us up?" she sneered. I recognized her immediately, Mandy Summers, the CEO's precious girlfriend. Not wanting to stir up trouble, I went home and changed. But got stuck at the gate again. "Lynn, look at the time. You're five minutes late. Honestly, you might as well not bother coming. You can't even get in anyway," she said, eyeing me with a teasing, half-smile. I looked at her, my voice flat. "Being five minutes late means I can't enter the building?" "New rule, just went into effect today. Oh, and by the way, you're not getting this month's paycheck." Now I got it. She was out to get me. Fine by me. I'll just mark the branch as "unqualified" on my evaluation report. I wonder what her face will look like when this office gets shut down.
