Chapter 2
My eyes were filled with Alexia’s yelling in the background and Calista who was begging me to agree to this, I don’t have much choice but to do, she told me her work is on the line, he is willing to fire there if I don’t agree, I can’t let that happen to Calista. She has done a lot for me and when I came into the city without a job and nothing but a suitcase, she gave me everything.
I knew I could never forgive myself if that happens, I just have to do the right thing and I know what is it; I have to get over my fear and do it, for Calista.
I pushed back every thought that I have, and I glanced at Calista.
“I’m going to do it, but just for thirty minutes, and he knew the rules, no touching.” I mumbled.
“He just wants a dance, nothing else I promise.” Calista said, and I smiled, I gave her one quick I hug before I headed into my room, I made sure to lock the door from behind.
I took a deep breath, wiped my tears and I took a step further toward the door. I always avoided private dances because of my past because I feared being touched by the wrong person, I was scared of being hurt and not being able to do anything about it.
“He is waiting.” I heard Calista’s voice from the other side of the door, her voice pulled me out of my trance.
“Give me a minute.” I mumbled, I wiped my tears and I richly redid my makeup before I headed out of the room, I found Calista standing beside the door.
“I promise you I will be right outside the door, I’m not going to net anything happen to you, you can trust Mateo, don’t listen to the rumors, listen to your heart.” Calista said, and I smiled, I gave her one last hug before I headed into the private room.
Different shades of light filled with room, the cool air danced around my skin and there was one light was continued to be prominent, I glanced around the room and my eyes met the pair of familiar eyes.
The same man I danced earlier today, I had no idea he was the boos, his eyes were on mine, I walked further into the room when I caught a glimpse of his face, helped like a Greek God siting across the couch, he had a smirk on his face, his eyes held an unfamiliar emotion, one that I could not quite understand, a pair of his back hair laid against his forehead, his lips were beautiful, I realized I was staring at him when I looked away.
“Alana.” He said, his voice was filled with dominance and respect, he peered up to look at me, my eyes widened in shock, I don’t go by that name here, we all use a code name and mine was purple Barbie, it sounded cliché, but Calista thought it was for the best.
I didn’t say a word to him, instead I headed toward the sound system and I played the song I wanted to dance on, there is one more rule to strip dancing in this club, we are not allowed to speak to the client because the client is not a friend, and he will never be one.
I headed toward Mateo with a smile on my face, I glanced at him as I started to dance seductively, my hand tracking every part of my body, I crouched down slowly, and I came up with a smile on my face, just like the other time, his eyes were on mine.
I headed toward him and I leaned closer to him when I started to dance, his finger gazed against my body and I felt a shiver runs down my spine, I didn’t speak instead I pretended like it didn’t happen.
“You make me go crazy bambina.” Mateo said, his voice was filled with warmth, I looked away from his chilling stare and I started to dance on his lap, I have never had any man have this effect on me, his fingers grazed against my ass for a little while when I moved away with a fake smile on my face.
I don’t like to be touched without permission.
I kept my distance away from him. I could tell he did not like that, but I didn’t care, I could lose my job, but I won’t break my one rule, I’m never having sex with anyone from a strip club.
Once I was done dancing, I glanced at Mateo, he moved closer to me, and he dropped money on the table, I thought he was moving away when he leaned toward me.
“You look afraid, what happened to you.” Mateo said, his voice sent chills down my spine, I was about speaking when he cut me off, let your coat, I’m dropping you back home.” He said, before he walked out of the room.
I had no idea what to do, a part of me did not want to disobey him, mainly because I was scared of what he is capable of; I have heard the rumors; I have heard about his nickname “the devil’s own” and I knew no good can come from someone named like that.
I took the money and I walked out of the room, to my surprise there was no one in sight, I quickly changed my clothing and I headed out of the place, I sent a message to Calista telling her I would be leaving before I hailed a cab and I left.
He can’t tell me what to do.
I switched off my phone when I got into the cab, the drive was slow, when the car came to a halt, I peered up and from the rear mirror I saw a familiar face and my breath hitches.
