Chapter 2
I blocked every single one of Felix Kennedy’s contacts, even those of his so-called friends. Just as I thought I was done, a message popped up from an unknown number. It was Clover Graham, Felix’s fiancée.
[Felix is mine now. You wouldn’t believe how much he adores me, so do us all a favor and back off. Keep your dignity intact.]
[Felix couldn’t stand you. Every time he saw you, he’d rush to buy me a gift, as if he needed to cleanse himself of your presence. Anything you’ve got, I’ve got it too—and so much more that you’ll never have.]
[If you don’t stop pestering him, I’ll make sure everyone knows you’re trying to steal my fiancé.]
Clover, Felix’s ever-fragile Delta. Delicate and timid, she’d burst into tears at the slightest harsh word, like a scared little kitten. Does Felix even realize how bold she is behind that facade? She’s caused me trouble both openly and covertly—spilling wine on my designer dress “by accident” and “accidentally” breaking my diamond necklace. I used to think she was some kind of master manipulator, but Felix only ever saw her as someone to protect.
Every time I called her out, Felix would jump to her defense. All those ruined clothes and jewelry? A total waste. I complained, but Felix just shrugged it off. “You’ve got plenty of those things,” he’d say. “Clover’s new here. Cut her some slack.”
Even if I had more, that didn’t give her the right to destroy them. So, I hired a lawyer to make sure she paid for every last penny. Then I tossed my phone card into the trash. Those two deserved each other—let them rot together.
My parents came upstairs, their faces etched with concern as they watched me pack.
“Juniper, are you sure about this? That Kennedy boy really crossed the line. We should march over to his family and demand answers!”
Both families had approved of my relationship with Felix, given our shared backgrounds and childhood history. We were as close as two people could be.
“Mom, Dad, if you want me to keep any shred of self-respect, don’t go. Isn’t it better that I’m heading to the Silver Fang Pack to help Marcos with his duties? You’ve always wanted me to gain more experience anyway.”
My parents were taken aback. After all, I’d been infatuated with Felix since we were pups, following him around like a lovesick fool.
“Are you sure this isn’t just a knee-jerk reaction?” Mom asked softly.
I pulled them into a tight hug, my voice firm. “I was naive before, but that’s over now.”
Like with my brother, my parents had high hopes for me. I’d been too immature, clinging to the idea that Felix was my whole world.
“Alright, alright. Our pups are strong and capable. Follow your path, and if things don’t work out, your father and I will always be here for you.”
I nodded, my throat tight with emotion. With that, I turned and left the Blue Moon Pack territory, ready to start a new chapter in the Silver Fang Pack. Everything back home was now just a memory.
