Synopsis

The day before our wedding, my fiancé Andrew Cole's secretary, Chloe Hart, deliberately dropped my engagement ring into the lake. I ordered her to retrieve it, shaking with rage. Instead, she fell to her knees in front of everyone, sobbing pitifully. "I'm sorry, Ava! It was an accident! I'll compensate you, please don't fire me from Mr. Cole's side!" I had seen her throw it on purpose. Yet here she was, playing the innocent again. A cold laugh escaped my lips. "Fine. As long as you can afford it, I won't fire you." Before I could even check the price on my phone, Andrew snatched it and threw it into the lake. He pulled Chloe into his arms and roared at me, "Ava Sterling! She said it was an accident! Why are you bullying her? Is the wedding off just because of a ring?" I looked at them both and smiled icily. "You're right," I said calmly. "So let's not get married."
