Chapter 1
When sponsoring a poor student named Ashley Duncan, my brother, Kevin Bernan, casually said, "What a coincidence! You and my sister, Luna Bernan, were born on the same day, even at the same time."
Ashley then imagined herself as the real wealthy daughter whose life was stolen by me. She took two hooligans to kidnap me, intending to kill me and swap our identities.
At the critical moment, I called my fiancé, Nick Leech, for help, but after the call was connected, he impatiently said, "Luna, you stole Ashley's life. This is the price you deserve to pay."
When I was pushed into the river, Nick's uncle, Oliver Leech, suddenly appeared and jumped into the river to save me. But due to exhaustion, we both eventually sank to the bottom of the river.
When I woke up again, I was back to the day I was kidnapped. This time, when Ashley smiled and let me choose someone to leave a last message to, I decisively called my brother.

"Luna, you bitch. You've stolen my life for twenty years of. Today, you'll pay for it." Ashley signed the gangsters a with her eyes, and they immediately started tearing at my clothes.
Seeing my panic, Ashley smiled triumphantly. She then kicked my phone over to me. "You're going to die today. But I'll give you a chance to say your last words."
I looked up. Ashley was staring at me intensely with her beautiful yet venomous eyes. I knew exactly what she wanted. She wanted me to call Nick, so I could be humiliated by him until I was desperate before I die, just like in my previous life.
But in this life, I made up my mind and called Kevin instead.
I never would have thought that a casual comment Kevin made while sponsoring Ashley—who was still a poor student back then—would make her mistakenly believe she was the real daughter of the Bernan family.
I tried my best to explain, but Ashley was dead set on the idea that I had stolen her wealthy life. Even my fiancé Nick believed her lies.
If Kevin found out how Nick treated me, I wouldn't have to do anything. He had many ways to torture them until they wished they were dead.
As soon as the call connected, I shouted into the phone, "I'm at Mistveil Bay on the east side of the city. Help!" But Ashley immediately snatched the phone from my hand and smashed it to pieces.
"You didn't call Nick?" She looked at me in disbelief. Then she smiled disdainfully and said, "Even if you called Kevin, he won't care about a fake like you."
"All right, hurry up. Tie her up and throw her into the river. Then clean up the scene and make it look like she jumped to her death by herself," she ordered the gangsters.
I knew Kevin would definitely come as fast as he could, but I still couldn't help feeling panicked. So I did everything I could to buy time.
I said, "Let me go. What you're doing is a crime. I've already asked for help. If anything happens to me, none of you will get away. Aren't you afraid of going to jail?"
But the gangsters didn't take my threats seriously at all. Just as we got closer to the river, a familiar person suddenly appeared in the distance.
He kicked one of the gangsters away and held me tightly in his arms. "Luna, I'm here. Don't be afraid."
When I heard Oliver's voice, my eyes immediately turned red. He was Nick's uncle in terms of family hierarchy, but he was only three years older than Nick.
I had always thought I had no real connection with him. But in my previous life, he had protected me without hesitation just like this.
When I was pushed into the river, he had held me tightly and tried his best to pull me up. Unfortunately, in the end, neither of us survived.
Since God had given me a second chance, I was determined to protect Oliver this time.
Looking at his pale face, I said worriedly, "Oliver, go. I can handle this by myself."
He had been in poor health since he was a child and rarely went out on normal days. What was more, he now had to take on two people alone.
As expected, Oliver was soon kicked to the ground by the two gangsters who had recovered.
Ashley frowned and said, "Throw this man into the river with her."
Watching Oliver struggling to get up and protect me even though he was on the ground, I couldn't help but shout, "Ashley, he's Nick's uncle. If you dare to hurt him, the Leech family will definitely make you pay for it."
A look of hesitation flashed across Ashley's face, but then she said nonchalantly, "I've never heard from Nick about his uncle. Even if he does, with his sickly appearance, he probably isn't favored in the Leech family."
"The Leech family will definitely not trouble me, the daughter of the Bernan family, because of a loser like him. What's more, if you die together, no one will expose whatever story I make up about how you died."
Oliver was beaten until he was barely breathing, and I was tied up tightly, unable to move at all.
I stared at Ashley and said bitterly, "Ashley, I don't know why you think I took your identity, but I am truly the child of the Bernan family."
"I can let go of all the things you did before, but if anything happens to Oliver, I swear I will make you suffer torment more terrible than death," I added.
Ashley suddenly put on a look of pity and laughed.
"Luna, I really underestimated how stubborn you are. You've enjoyed a life of luxury for so many years, so it's natural that you can't easily admit you were mistaken for the Bernan family's child in the hospital from the very beginning," she said,
She continued, "But no matter how much you deny it, it won't help. I've already done a paternity test, and I'm definitely the daughter of the Bernan family."
I looked at her in disbelief, because this was impossible.
