The Moon Goddess delivered an oracle.

Only a union between the heirs of the Lawrence family and the Stella family could guarantee a century of prosperity and peace for the Wolf Pack.

At the engagement party, I caught my fiancé, Jason Stella, and Selena Dunton, the maid's daughter, in bed together.

Jason zipped up his pants calmly and gave me a quick, dismissive kiss on the cheek.

"Charlotte, this is the last wild night Selena and I had before the wedding. For the next few decades, I promise you'll be the only woman in my life," he said.

Selena shot me a provocative look and wrapped her arms around his waist. She whined that he hadn't satisfied her enough.

Jason's eyes sparked with desire again. He scooped her up and said he'd take her to the yacht and drain her dry.

As he walked past me, he tossed out, "I'll be back in three days to marry you."

I became the laughingstock of everyone.

Logan Stella, the head of the Stella family, apologized to me and promised to give me half of his family's assets as compensation.

But the Moon Goddess's oracle couldn't be broken.

With everyone watching, I pointed at Jeremy Stella, Jason's half-brother.

"Since Jason doesn't respect me as his fiancée, your family should pick a new heir," I said.

From the moment I walked in, I could feel Jeremy's eyes on me.

I walked right up to him, stared straight into his eyes, and asked, "Jeremy, will you marry me?"

"Yes, I do. I swear, you'll be the only one I ever love," he answered without hesitation, his heart pounding.

Logan was stunned. He immediately stepped forward, trying to stop me.

"Miss Lawrence, Jason lost his head for a moment. Please, give him another chance," he said.

Then he dialed Jason right away, sounding desperate. "Jason, get back here right now, or Miss Lawrence will marry another man."

Jason's heavy breathing and Selena's moans came through the phone.

"Logan, stop trying to scare me," Jason scoffed. "With the Moon Goddess's oracle, Charlotte can only marry me for the rest of her life unless she's willing to give up her family's future."

Hearing his cocky words, I shot back coldly, "Jason, are you sure I'll marry you?"

Jason's laugh turned mocking when he heard my voice.

"Charlotte, you don't need to play all these games.

"Selena and I just wanted to have some fun before the wedding. You're killing the mood here.

"If you still want to be the heir, you have no choice but to marry me, right?"

Before he could finish, Selena's syrupy voice sounded. "Jason, after the wedding, you'll be the Alpha, the new leader of the Wolf Pack. How can you let a woman boss you around?

"Do you really want your mate to walk all over you? That's nothing to brag about."

Jason let out a snort. "Selena, you really are the only one who gets me."

All I could hear was the two of them flirting and giggling on the other end.

Before I could say a word, Jason hung up the call.

Logan looked at me, embarrassed.

I laughed. "When I was eight, you guys let me choose my fated mate. Whoever I picked would become the heir of the Stella family.

"Back then, I chose Jason, but he betrayed me. Since he doesn't respect me as his fiancée, your family should pick a new heir."

Logan was shocked. "But Jason has been groomed as the heir since he was a child. His abilities are far superior to Jeremy's."

I shot Jeremy a meaningful look and asked, "Is that so?"
