Early the next morning, I got up and made myself a lavish breakfast.

Jessica and Andrew sat down out of habit, only to realize there was nothing for them. Jessica exploded instantly. "Are you trying to starve me?"

I smiled, "You said it yourselves. We're even now. If we're even, why should I cook for you?"

Jessica had nothing to say.

Andrew looked awkward. "You're done eating anyway. Go back to your room. The baby's probably hungry or needs a diaper change. Go deal with it."
