Chapter 3
That was silverscurvy. It was the scariest curse a werewolf could get. Only werewolves abandoned by the Moon Goddess would be affected by it.
"What the hell are you staring at?" Gavin barked.
He caught me staring at his arm and blew up at me, kicking me hard in the stomach.
I slammed into the rough stone wall, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
"That bitch gave me this fucking disease, then she's off to Uptown living it up. So you know what? I'm gonna beat the crap out of you and take it all out on your face," he said.
"Gavin, it is useless to kill me. Chloe is about to marry Leonard. She'll be the Silvermoon Pack's Luna soon. Don't you want to get the moonstone from her to cure your silverscurvy?" I shot back.
Gavin froze for a second. "What do you mean?"
"Let me go, and I'll get you the moonstone."
He cracked up and smacked me on my face. "You think I'm stupid? You're useless now. How the hell can you help me?"
When he finally got tired, he threw the belt to the floor and stormed out of the cellar. The iron door was locked tight again.
I lay on the ground and felt limp. The phone that had been tossed down was still in the corner.
I dragged myself over and grabbed it. But there was no signal.
Suddenly, the screen lit up. A message popped in. It was from Chloe.
[Selena, Gavin's silverscurvy is interesting, right?]
I stared at the words on the screen. Her messages kept coming.
[There's no cure for silverscurvy. Once he claims you, you'll end up covered in sores and rot. But don't worry. After I infect Leonard and take over his pack, I'll make sure you two get the fanciest coffins.]
I took a screenshot and saved her words.

The next day at noon, the cellar door was opened again.
Jack walked down the stairs, grabbed me by the hair, and dragged me upstairs.
A red sports car was parked in the yard.
Chloe was wearing a white dress and holding Leonard's arm, standing in the muddy yard.
She covered her nose. "Gavin, how could you do this to poor Selena? I asked you to let her stay, not beat her up."
She shed a couple of crocodile tears.
Leonard wiped them away for her. "Baby, you're too soft-hearted. That's the only way to handle a woman like her."
I struggled to my feet and pulled out the phone. "Leonard, take a look at this. Open your eyes and see exactly what kind of woman you're holding."
I held the screen up to his face.
He stared at the screen, and Chloe's face went pale.
She lunged forward and snatched the phone. "Selena, why are you faking this stuff to slander me? I never sent any of that."
She burst into tears and clung to Leonard's arm. "Honey, you have to believe me. She knows all about technology. It's easy for her to fake some texts. She's jealous and wants to break us up."
Leonard shot me a cold look and snatched the phone from me. "Selena, you make me sick. You have gone this far to slander Chloe?"
He raised his arm and smashed the phone against a nearby rock. The screen shattered, and pieces scattered everywhere.
"No!" I cried out.
I scrambled forward, trying to gather the shattered pieces.
Leonard stomped on my hand, and my bones cracked.
I was in so much pain that my whole body was cramping.
"Hold her down," Leonard ordered.
Two werewolf guards stepped forward and pinned me to the muddy ground.
