Chapter 4
On the afternoon I moved out of the dorm, I created a new account called "Rachel's Three-Month Miracle."
The one-month internship at the end of the semester, plus two months of summer break, was perfect for my transformation challenge.
I never showed my face—just kept the camera focused below my neck, on the scale, and my meals.
On day one of the livestream, all you could see was a 200-pound, overweight body.
My voice was steady as I said, "Hey everyone. Starting today, I'm going to drop a hundred pounds in three months, just with herbal tea and healthy eating."
The chat was full of mockery.
[Trying to go viral or what? Lose a hundred pounds in three months? Unless you get lipo, no way.]
[Yeah, right. And I'm the Queen of Fleuria.]
[Another pharma scammer here to scam people out of their money.]
I ignored them and calmly drank my first bowl of herbal tea.
Then came day two, day three, and so on.
Those three months covered my end-of-semester internship and the whole summer break.
I livestreamed twice a day, drinking my herbal tea, sharing my weight, and showing off my meals. Everything was out in the open, no secrets, no breaks.
My weight dropped so fast, you could actually see it happening.
My chubby jawline started to tighten, my collarbones poked out from under the fat, and my waistline got sharper every day.
On camera, I looked like a whole new person every single day.
At first, everyone online was roasting me, but soon I had the whole internet totally stunned.
[Holy crap! Dropped another 1.2 pounds today! What kind of miracle weight loss is this?]
[Please, I'm begging for the recipe! I'd trade my ex's life for it!]
The old fossils on the board went from watching coldly on the sidelines to camping out in my livestream every day, spamming gifts and sucking up to my dad on the phone like total bootlickers.
"Mr. Lane! This formula from Miss Lane is pure magic! We've got to get it into production ASAP!"
The board gave unanimous approval to launch the herbal tea production line.
Right before summer break ended, I stepped on the scale one last time.
The digital display showed I was exactly a hundred pounds lighter than when I started streaming.
I posted a before-and-after transformation video of my body.
The comments section went wild.
[Girl, you're my idol! Please, just show us your face!]
[With that body transformation your face must be absolutely stunning!]
[I'm betting a pack of chips—she's definitely a total goddess!]
On the first day of school, I slipped into a black slip dress.
In the mirror, my long hair was pulled up, showing off a bare-faced but jaw-dropping look. But the real killer? My eyes—bright, intense, and sharp as midnight stars.
I pulled on a mask and headed for campus.
The early September sun was still blazing, and the school gate was packed with students and parents coming back for the new semester.
A red Ferrari was parked right by the curb, impossible to miss.
The scissor doors were open, and Adrian was leaning against the car, sunglasses hiding his eyes, looking totally laid-back—but he had everyone's attention.
Just as I was about to push through the crowd, my phone rang.
It was Chloe.
"Rachel, where are you?" Her voice was practically buzzing with excitement and impatience.
"At the school gate," I replied.
"Perfect! Can you go meet Adrian for me first? I've got something to handle, I'll be there in about half an hour."
She paused, her voice practically dripping with malicious glee.
Chloe said, "I've already told him you're my roommate. You don't have to do anything—just walk up and tell him your name is Rachel Lane."
I let out a cold laugh.
My eyes scanned the restless crowd, finally landing on a nondescript corner at the edge of the square.
There, someone in an oversized black tracksuit, hat pulled low and mask hiding her face, was huddled in the shadows, clutching her phone.
Of course—it was Chloe.
"No," I shot back, my voice cold and firm.
In the corner, Chloe was seething with frustration.
"Fine, Rachel, you want to play dirty? Don't blame me for getting nasty!" she spat.
She dialed another number, her voice shaking with venom.
"Hey, are you at the campus radio station yet?
"Good! Do it now! Broadcast it right this second!"
Almost at the same time, the campus radio speakers blared out of nowhere.
"Attention! Adrian West, listen up! This is for you at the Rivergate University gate!
"That Rachel Lane you've been dating online? She's a disgusting 200-pound fat cow! A total hideous monster!
"Every single photo she sent you was stolen from her roommate! In real life, she's fat, ugly, and a psycho freak—catfishing guys online with fake pics!
"Adrian, you dumbass! You got totally played by a fat cow! Everyone on campus knows what a joke she is!"
The crowd instantly erupted, voices exploding in a wave of gossip and shock.
Adrian's usual arrogance froze on his face.
He took off his sunglasses, his eyes cold and dark as he shot a glare toward the radio station, jawline tight as steel.
The next second, he lowered his head, pulled out his phone, and spoke into it—his voice wasn't loud, but every word sliced through the chaos.
"Rachel Lane.
"I'm giving you one chance.
"Show yourself. Right now."
