Chapter 1
My roommate used my name to catfish the campus king, Adrian West.
She sent him her own glam shots.
When Adrian found out I was just a 200-pound fat girl, he completely lost it and destroyed my family's business.
My parents were so devastated that they ended their lives by jumping off a building, and I did the same.
My roommate came to my grave, wearing a massive diamond ring, looking all innocent and pitiful.
She said, "Rachel, Adrian just proposed to me! It's your fault for offing yourself so soon. If you were still around, with your 200-pound frame as my bridesmaid, I'd look like a total goddess next to you.
"Honestly, I only felt sorry for you—looking like a pig and never even having a boyfriend—so I used your name to catfish Adrian. Who knew Adrian would be so grossed out by you that he'd destroy your whole family?
"Guess all I can do is hope you get to be skinny in your next life."
Lucky for me, I really did get another shot at life.
Only three months left until Adrian lays eyes on me again.
This time, I'll make her regret ever stealing my name—she'll pay with her life.

"No way!!!
"You actually got me a global limited-edition Ferrari?!"
Chloe's shrill scream shattered the calm of the dorm.
The two roommates who had been scrolling on their phones immediately looked over to see what was happening.
Chloe had already bounced up from her bed, unable to hide her excitement and smugness.
"Adrian, you're not messing with me, are you?" Chloe said.
She threw me a look and hit the speaker button on purpose.
Adrian's indulgent laugh echoed through the tiny dorm room.
He said, "Babe, it's just a car. Why would I joke about that?
"Saw it in Fleuria and instantly thought you'd look amazing in red.
"By the time I'm back in three months, the import paperwork will be done. I'll personally deliver the sports car to your dorm."
The call ended.
After a few seconds of silence, the other two roommates let out envious screams.
"Chloe! Did Adrian really buy you a Ferrari?"
"Oh my god You're so lucky!"
Chloe climbed out of bed amid all the excitement, came over to me, and clung to my arm, acting all sweet and needy.
She said, "Rachel, will you come with me to meet Adrian when the time comes?
"It's my first time dating online, and I'm so scared I'll get played."
I looked up and saw that innocent look on her face.
That same innocent face fooled me once before, in my last life.
My heart softened, and I nodded.
In the end, my whole family ended up paying with all three of our lives.
Chloe moved into our dorm during our junior year.
That was when she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease.
The treatment required long-term use of high-dose steroids and supplements, which were not only expensive but also caused rapid weight gain, making her swell up like a balloon.
Chloe's family was so broke that they couldn't even afford her next month's living expenses, let alone the medical bills.
Whenever her illness flared up, she'd just hide in the dorm and cry.
Back then, I felt sorry for her, so I went home and begged my parents for help.
The Lane Family not only covered all her college expenses but also let her get early access to Lane Pharmaceuticals' new drug.
The drug had barely any side effects and didn't make you gain weight, but it hadn't officially hit the market yet.
After I kept asking, my parents pulled some strings and got Chloe the new drug as an "assistance medication."
That's how she kept her precious beauty and slim body intact.
