Chapter 2
"Got a bit more intimate?" I was about to blow my top. "Stella, you call this intimate? This was a one-sided ambush. That's not just attempted assault. It's a full-on crime."
I grabbed her shoulders, forcing her to look at me. "Come clean. How did you pull it off? Why didn't I feel anything at all?"
Stella Bullock's face was so red it looked like it might bleed. Her eyes darted everywhere, refusing to meet mine. "I used a little sleep-inducing aromatherapy.
"You were out cold. Then I just gently…. And it was over quickly."
I was speechless. What kind of legendary wife did I bring home? She actually pulled a fast one on her own husband.
Seeing the look on my face, as if I'd just been struck by lightning, Stella quickly clung to my arm, shaking it back and forth. "Honey, I'm sorry. I know I was wrong.
"I promise I won't do it again. It's just that you're so irresistible, I couldn't help myself. Look, even the doctor said you need another check-up.
"Next time, I'll be good, I swear! I'll do whatever you say, no matter how long you want me to hold back, okay?"
She cooed in that soft, sweet voice, her warm breath brushing against my neck.
All the anger I had just deflated, like a balloon pricked by a needle.
What else could I do? I married her. So even if I had to get on my knees, I'd still spoil her to the end.
I sighed helplessly and reached out to ruffle her hair. "What am I supposed to say about you?"
Stella immediately took advantage of the moment, stood on her tiptoes, and gave me a loud smooch on the cheek, her smile blooming like a flower. "I knew you were the best, honey.
"Don't be mad, okay? Let's go home, and I'll make you something delicious to make it up to you."
Seeing her mood flip from gloomy to sunshine in a split second, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Seriously, what kind of mess was this?
As I was leading Stella Bullock outside, I couldn't help but remember the very first time I met her.
Back then, I was another overworked corporate drone, getting bossed around by clients day in and day out.
That night, after working late into the night, I dragged my half-dead body into a 24-hour convenience store, just hoping to grab a beer and drown my sorrows.
And that was when I saw Stella by the shelves.
She was in this fiery red slip dress, looking drop-dead gorgeous, standing on her tiptoes trying to reach a bag of chips on the top shelf.
After a few failed attempts, she stomped her foot in frustration, grumbling to herself.
She looked so cute, and honestly, a bit helpless.
Before I knew it, I walked over and effortlessly grabbed the bag of chips for her. "Here you go."
Stella turned around, her eyes sparkling like they were filled with stars. "Thank you."
Her voice was crisp, with a hint of adorable mischief.
In that instant, my heart—dead tired from all those late nights—got slammed by something out of nowhere.
Later, I found out she wasn't really struggling to reach the chips at all.
It turned out that she was the only daughter of the convenience store chain's owner. She was bored and pretended to be another shopper for fun that day.
And I walked right into the trap she either meticulously planned or threw together on a whim.
From meeting to getting married, it all happened at lightning speed, as if we were on fast-forward.
Stella was like a wildfire, bold, direct, and never holding anything back. For a by-the-book guy like me, she was unlike anyone I'd ever met.
My friends all said I'd struck gold. I married a rich, stunning girl who actually went after me first.
But only I knew that being with Stella turned my whole routine upside down.
She was always coming up with wild ideas, pulling me into all kinds of new and exciting things.
She was so passionate that, especially in the bedroom, even a straight-laced guy like me could barely keep up.
"Totally uninhibited"—that was the perfect way to describe her.
Before, I used to think it was a sweet kind of headache.
But after today's chaos at the hospital, I finally got it. Having a wife who couldn't keep her hands off me could really stir up some serious trouble.
