Chapter 3
3.3. I Want A Queen!
~Jake POV~
I stared at Roselyn's face for a long time, sighing heavily. Five hundred years of trying to find the one woman who could be my mate and queen, in the end I meet her outside the gate of my house and at a worst time.
Converting her into a vampire is not a problem to me. But I can feel the repulsion and resistance in the way she looks and talks to me. She made it clear that she doesn't want me to turn her into a vampire.
I want her to be willing to become my queen.
Part of me wanted to just impose my will on her and be done with it, but the biggest part of me wanted her to accept me with open arms.
What should I do?
I can easily turn her into a vampire now. The transformation will take three days.
But there is no fun of making a vampire queen out of a rebellious woman. She will only give me headaches and create chaos everywhere she goes because I force her into a life she doesn't want.
I want a loving and obedient queen who fully supports my ideals and fights for supremacy. I don't want a queen who might stab me in the back if I lower my guard down even for a second.
But who cares?
In the end, she will eventually obey my rules and accept me as her mate and king if she finally becomes a vampire like me.
I bared my fangs, bent my head down, ready to sink my fangs into her flesh and transform her into a vampire.
I lifted her head from the golden coffin, but when I was about to sink my fangs into her neck, an idea popped up in my head.
What if I will give her one week to decide if she wants to be my queen or not?
No pressure and no rush.
One week is enough for her to decide her fate, considering that she is desperate to find and save her sister from the Bloodshed Coven clan.
Her time is running out. She needs my help because her sister's life is at stake!
A smile formed in my lips.
I have decided to go the hard way to win her heart.
I lifted her body and disappeared from the coffin room in a blink of an eye.
I appeared in the house she and her sister had rented. I have been here earlier when I put her to sleep but I didn't stay long. I just want to see how she and her sister lived. I discovered that she was two months behind rent and she was working two jobs just to survive.
She didn't know her sister sometimes skipped school to attend parties. She was crazy in love with the son of our council leader. They were inseparable the moment they met. I know how their love affair developed. It was just a silly teenage love affair between a human and vampire.
I gently settled Roselyn's unconscious body on the sofa and waved my hand on her face, awakening her from her deep slumber. I switched on the light in the living room and sat on the sofa beside her, waiting for her to open her eyes.
When she opened her eyes, she instantly noticed the familiar ceiling of the living room. Her eyes lit up. But when her brown eyes landed on my face, she was startled and sat upright.
"Why are you here?" she asked, moving away from me.
"I brought you back here to your place to give you one week to decide if you really want to be my queen," I responded with a smile.
She blinked her eyes in confusion. "W-what do you mean?"
I took a deep breath and said, "Your sister was kidnapped by the rival vampire clan. Do you still remember?"
"Yes, I remember," she replied in a distraught tone, tears shimmered in her eyes. "I will save my sister and punish the vampires who kidnapped her!" she said, her eyes flashed with defiance.
"Listen to me, sweetie... you can't go to the Bloodshed Coven clan to save your sister because you are currently weak... and you are powerless to defend yourself. You will only get killed in the process," I said, forcing her to accept the truth that she couldn't do it alone, she needs my help and full support.
Tears of worry and frustration shimmered in her eyes as she fell into deep silence, evaluating her nonexistent options. Then she broke into heartbreaking sobs. She looks miserable. I can feel her pain and hopelessness, sucking me in.
My heart bleeds for her.
I opened my eyes and spoke the words she needed to hear. "You do have a choice, come to me willingly. I will transform you into a vampire and you will become my queen. Together we can save your sister and rule over the rival clans. We rule the world on our own terms," I said in a determined tone.
"But I don't want to become a vampire!" she protested stubbornly.
I insisted, "You have to become one — because saving your sister is not an easy matter to handle. You do have a choice. You can report to the cops that your sister was kidnapped by vampires. But who will believe you? Everyone thought vampires were already extinct, until you accidentally stumbled upon the truth. Besides, you know very well that cops are weak, they don't have supernatural powers to fight vampires like us."
"Please stop talking! I don't want to hear anything from you anymore. Go away! Leave me alone!" she yelled angrily to my face.
I ignored her outburst with a heavy sigh. I can't give up. I need to convince her to accept me as her mate and king. "You do have another choice... you can forget about your sister and just move on with your life. But can you do it? Can you let her die without exploring all options to save her?"
She cried harder in front of me, her body shaking in despair. I want to hold her in my arms to comfort her but I'm sure she would only push me away if I do that.
"Sweetie, the solution is within your reach. I'm willing to help you. Are you that selfish and coldhearted towards your sister? Can you live in peace without feeling guilty for what happened to your sister?" I asked, pressing the buttons deeper so she would accept my help willingly.
She raised her tearstained face and glared at me. "Just leave me alone! I want to be alone!" she demanded furiously.
I throw my hands in the air. "Fine. I will take my leave now. Just call my name if you have reached a decision. Remember, you are not alone. I am here... ready to help you."
She looked the other way, ignoring me completely.
Sigh.
She really is a stubborn woman. Breathing heavily, I said, "I know where to find your sister. Together we can save her. Don't push me away. I'm your only hope. If you want to save your sister, don't delay your decision. Her life is in danger."
"Just leave!" she barked her order while glaring at me, sending daggers into my eyes.
Wow. There's still so much fire in her eyes despite her hopeless condition.
I smiled. She looks so damn stubborn right now, so damn annoying but she still looks so beautiful in my eyes. I fully understand her anger, confusion and desperation. Those emotions are not easy to deal with.
I moved with the speed of light and planted a gentle kiss on her head before she could react. "See you soon, my queen. Bye for now. I will give you the space you need."
Then I disappeared from her eyes in the blink of an eye, back to my house where the previous party was being held. Broken tables and chairs scattered all over the lawn.
I gritted my teeth in anger.
One day, all my enemies will bow to me the moment I ascend to power as the king of all vampires.
