Synopsis

A month before our wedding, my fiancé suddenly got really busy. Then I found the marriage certificate hidden in his car. It was a photo of him and the woman he had never gotten over. I didn't confront him. I simply packed my suitcase and left for Bellavere. He thought I was just being dramatic. Ten days later, he finally called. The second I answered, he started yelling. "Where have you been? My dad's in the hospital, and you're supposed to be his future daughter-in-law. How could you not even show up?" I listened to him shouting, and I almost laughed at how ridiculous it was. "Sorry," I said quietly. "But I'm not his daughter-in-law, and I never was. I had no place at that hospital."
