Chapter 5

"Honey," Jason blurted out.

"Honey, are you okay? Why is this happening? How did it come to this?

"Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?

"I thought it was just a simple apology, how did it get so messed up?"

I blacked out.

My eyes finally closed.

Mrs. Lawson screamed, "Vera, don't fall asleep! You can't sleep now!

"Wake up!"

She fumbled to hang up and started pinching Vera's nose and upper lip, trying to wake her.

All Jason heard was Mrs. Lawson's desperate scream before the line went dead.
