Chapter 1
My family had an old tradition: we would marry whoever held our rosaries first on our twenty-second birthdays.
The childhood sweetheart I'd been close to for eighteen years swore he'd be the one to take it.
But when I opened the box, the beads snapped and scattered across the floor. A passing blind man bent down and picked them up.
My childhood sweetheart laughed and taunted, urging me to marry the stranger, just to amuse my father's illegitimate daughter.
Seeing the blind man freeze in embarrassment, I stepped in front of him and said protectively, "Fine. I'll marry him."

Calvin Stark looked at me in disbelief, "What did you say?"
Amidst everyone's gazes, I repeated, "I'll marry him."
Calvin's brows furrowed tightly. "Celia, are you crazy? Are you really going to marry a blind man?"
My half sister, Dani Boyle also smiled. "Exactly, Celia. Even if you want to spite Calvin, you can't throw away your future on a blind man."
I looked at Calvin and Dani coldly.
Calvin and I were childhood sweethearts. He used to only like me, but Dani's arrival changed that.
In my previous life, when they tried to push me into marrying the blind man, I was enraged. I argued with them, making Calvin and Dani storm away in a huff.
I had known Dani had been secretly involved with Lennon Blackburn, the eldest son of the Blackburn family for a long time, and wasn't sincere towards Calvin. I urged Calvin not to get close to her.
However, Calvin severed his partnership with my father, causing my family's financial chain to collapse.
He stood towering over me, his gaze full of mockery.
He said, "Celia, when you sowed discord between Dani and me, did you ever imagine this?"
My face was pale, and I smiled bitterly.
I finally understood that he was no longer the old Calvin who doted on me and wanted to marry me.
After my family went bankrupt, my father went into robbery to provide for us. He was caught and went to prison. I ended up in a car accident. Neither of us had a good ending.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back on my twenty-second birthday.
Watching Calvin and Dani in front of me snickering, I subtly clenched my fists.
In this life, I won't just stand by. I wanted to witness the agonizing look on Calvin's face when he discovered the truth about Dani.
I took the blind man's hand and led him out of the private room.
Calvin blocked my path and sneered, "I know you're anxious because we haven't set a wedding date, and you're just trying to provoke me by saying you'll marry a blind man.
"But I don't like you playing games. I'll give you a way out. If you drink all the wine Dani brewed, I'll pretend I didn't hear what you just said."
Calvin pointed to the wine bottle on the table. It was a birthday gift from Dani.
Everyone in our circle knew I was allergic to alcohol and never touched a drop, yet Calvin wanted me to drink it.
"You're crazy," I told him.
I pushed Calvin away. His face visibly darkened.
I grabbed the blind man and walked out.
Behind me, Calvin's furious voice rang out. "Celia, go on. Marry the blind guy then."
My footsteps didn't even pause. I left without looking back.
After leaving the hotel, my assistant stopped the car in front of us, and I helped the blind guy get in.
Only then did the blind guy tell me his last name was Calhoun, and his vision was impaired due to an accident a few months ago.
Calhoun? The Calhoun family wielded immense power in Ness City and was sought after by everyone. Yet this poor man who shared the same last name was blind and unable to even more freely.
I looked into his dull eyes with pity and softly said, "I am Celia Boyle, the daughter of the head of Boyle Group.
"I'm sorry you were humiliated with me today. I will find the best doctors to treat your eyes. The only condition is that you marry me.
"If you agree, just nod."
After he nodded, I didn't put on a shy act or anything like that.
I didn't agree to marry him impulsively, but because I needed a spouse. Otherwise, my father would only want to marry me off to Calvin.
I said, "Alright, Mr. Calhoun. Let's go to the wedding dress shop now and settle on our wedding attire today."
The car slowly started moving. I called my father, and it rang for quite a while before he picked up.
"What's wrong?" my father asked.
Hearing my father's tired voice, I suddenly felt a pang of sadness.
Remembering how he was handcuffed and put into a police car in my previous life, I couldn't help but clench my fists.
I said, "Don't choose the Stark family again for the collaboration this time."
My father was confused, but after my repeated insistence, he agreed. "Alright, I'll listen to you."
I breathed a sigh of relief. After hanging up, the car soon arrived at the wedding dress shop.
I helped my guy out of the car, and we entered the wedding dress shop together.
That was when I saw Dani standing in front of a wedding dress, her eyes full of yearning.
She said, "If Celia wore this wedding dress, she would look very beautiful, wouldn't she?"
Standing beside her was Calvin. When he heard her words, his brows instantly furrowed.
He said, "Don't mention her. She's lost her head now. Besides, Dani, you would look even better wearing it than her."
Dani pretended to be shy, fiddling with the hem of her dress as she gave a coy smile. "Really? But this dress is too beautiful. I don't deserve it."
Calvin's eyes were tender. "Don't say that. If you like it, let's buy it."
He took out his bank card, ready to pay, when he abruptly turned and met my gaze. "Celia? Why are you here?"
Calvin retracted his bank card guiltily, his gaze falling on the man beside me. His brows furrowed. "Why did you bring him here? Are you really going to marry him?"
