Chapter 6
On the day of the blind date, I made sure to look my absolute best.
But the fancy restaurant lost all its shine the moment Andrew walked in.
He had that natural, aristocratic vibe, rocking a bespoke suit and radiating confidence.
When he saw me, he handed me Dior's latest bracelet with a polite smile. "Lily dear, it's been a while. "
Come on, how was that even fair? With a face that gorgeous, he opened his mouth and called me "Lily dear"?
I could hear my heart pounding in my ears. When I looked up, Andrew was staring at me, his eyes burning with intensity.
We were a perfect match on paper, and with a bit of spark between us, things moved fast.
We made it official and got our marriage license in less than a month. Andrew handed me a contract worth tens of millions of dollars, gave me a villa in Bellmont, and showered me with countless pieces of jewelry.
I wasn't really into material things, but when someone was spending money on me like it was no big deal, I couldn't help but feel my heart skip a beat.
Andrew leaned down, kissed me, and slipped the ring onto my finger. "You're my wife now. You deserve the very best this world has to offer. "
I was a little dazed, almost wanting to laugh, but I couldn't help kissing him back. "Thank you, honey. "
"What did you call me? " he asked, his voice low and teasing.
"Honey. My sweet honey bear, " I replied, my voice soft and playful.
"Damn. We need to get married at the courthouse fast, or I won't be able to hold myself back, " he said, his tone half-joking, half-serious.
I giggled.
Since Andrew had a big project to handle in Scandinavia, we had to put the wedding on hold for now.
While Andrew was away on business, I went back home for a bit.
My dad had gotten fed up with how tough business was these days, so he shut down the company and moved overseas.
People outside our circle didn't know the real story and assumed our family business was in trouble.
I met up with my old classmate William, and he asked me about it too.
Before I could say anything, a familiar voice called out from behind me.
A sound called out, "Well, well, if it isn't our high-and-mighty Miss Summers. What's with the plain outfit? "
I turned around and saw Jason and Anna. They were at a class reunion too, surrounded by people I recognized.
Jason's eyes stayed fixed on me, a storm of emotion crossing his face.
We hadn't seen each other in years, and he looked a lot more mature now. Rocking a designer suit, it was obvious he was doing pretty well for himself.
Anna was the same, decked out in an LV bag, YSL jewelry, and basically dripping in designer brands from head to toe.
Seeing how plain I looked, Anna repeated herself, "Wow, looks like karma finally caught up with you. I heard the Summers family business went under, are you broke now, coming back to see if Jason will bail you out? "
William looked ready to stand up for me, but I held him back.
I arched my brow at Anna, giving her a pointed look.
"Yeah, that's right. I'm back to see if my ex still wants me, " I said, my tone light but with a hint of challenge.
"Jason, do you still want me?"
