Chapter 3
Rosie's reaction was a whole show in itself.
Her eyes grew wide, then she slapped a hand over her mouth, like she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Finally, she ducked her head, blushing.
Someone immediately joked, "Rosie, Mr. Grant even followed you to the show. Isn't it time you unblock him?"
She covered her face, speaking in a sweet, playful voice. "Oh, I'll decide after I see how he acts when he gets here."
The crowd burst into laughter, the whole place buzzing with excitement.
I was completely thrown off.
Christopher couldn't really think Rosie was his online crush.
He actually showed up on the show for this.
Images of my online fling with Christopher popped into my head.
Whenever he pissed me off, he'd just send me money.
If I ignored him, he'd hit me with ab selfies.
If I kept ghosting him, he'd up the ante with even spicier pics.
He really knew how to win me over.
But all that sweet attention was supposed to be for me.
It suddenly became Rosie. He shouldn't be really just letting her boss him around like that.
I couldn't hold it in anymore. I shot Rosie a cold look and said, "If Christopher really proves himself, would you actually take him off your block list?"
Rosie looked a little surprised, but quickly nodded.
"Absolutely," she replied.
Someone shot me a puzzled look. "Sabrina, what are you getting at?"
I didn't answer right away.
If I came clean and said I was the real one he was dating online, the netizens were going to roast me alive.
Meanwhile, the netizens were already coming for me.
[What's up with Sabrina? Why'd she just pop up and say that out of nowhere?]
[She's so jealous it's practically oozing through the screen. Bet she's never had a guy treat her like Mr. Grant treats Rosie in her whole life.]
[Seriously, what's there to question? Christopher even came on the show for Rosie.]
[This girl has no manners at all. But don't worry, once Mr. Grant shows up, he'll definitely put her in her place for Rosie. Just kick her off already.]
Rosie caught the hesitation on my face and straightened up, looking even more self-assured.
She frowned, looked me straight in the eye, and said, "Seriously, what are you trying to say? If I can't pull it off, you think you can?"
She was totally skeptical.
She even had this defiant glint in her eyes.
"Sabrina, are you?" Rosie shot me a look.
She didn't bother to finish, but her words were dripping with sarcasm.
She thought I was jealous and was trying to stir the pot.
She thought I was just picking a fight.
Everyone turned their attention to me.
With all those eyes on me, I couldn't hold it in anymore and blurted out, "Yeah, I can.
"He's literally blocked on my phone right now. Wanna see for yourself?"
The whole place went dead silent.
No one saw that coming.
The awkwardness was so thick you could cut it with a knife. It was like someone hit pause on the whole room.
One of the guests finally snapped out of it and gawked at me, eyes wide with shock.
"Sabrina, did you just say the person you put on your block list is Christopher?" she blurted out.
I realized I'd said it too directly, but there was no taking it back now, so I just nodded.
She looked even more confused. "Wait, you blocked Christopher as well?"
I replied flatly, "Yeah."
The comments section exploded.
[Is she just trying to get attention? Rosie says she blocked Mr. Grant, and now this girl's gotta copy her? Does she really think Mr. Grant even knows she exists?]
[Big deal, she blocked him. Who's she trying to impress with that attitude? For all we know, she probably added Mr. Grant on WhatsApp, got ignored, and then blocked him herself just to save face.]
[Rosie and her? Not even close. Rosie's the real girlfriend, and this chick's just desperate to squeeze in. She's totally delusional.]
Just then, Rosie stormed up to me, her face a picture of shock. "How could you possibly have Mr. Grant's WhatsApp?"
I was done playing around. I shot back, "Why wouldn't I? Maybe I'm the one he's been seeing online."
I met her gaze, icy and unyielding.
The comment section exploded again.
[Wait, did I hear that right? Sabrina's actually claiming she's the one Christopher was dating online?]
[Is she crazy? Rosie and Mr. Grant have been flirting on the show already. Isn't she afraid she'll get canceled for saying that?]
[Seriously, what's her problem? She's not even worried Mr. Grant will call her out for talking like that?]
Rosie held back her anger and shot back, "So you're saying you're the one who's been dating Mr. Grant online, not me?"
She was clearly pissed, but totally unfazed, not even a flicker of panic. Honestly, I couldn't help but think it was strange.
She was about to shoot back, but I cut her off. "Why is your first reaction to suspect I'm just faking it?
"Who says he can't be seeing both of us online?"
