Chapter 2

Samara's voice came through again.

"Did you see what's going on? We were hoping this food show would give you a popularity boost, but now that Rosie's online romance with Christopher has exploded, she's going to hog all the buzz from the show. You're about to fade into total obscurity."

I froze for a second. Honestly, I could cook pretty well, and I'd picked this chill cooking show hoping it would help fix my shaky reputation.

And the show was dropping tomorrow.

But now that Rosie was trending everywhere, I was just going to fade into the background next to her.

I gritted my teeth. "But what if I'm actually the one who's been having an online romance with Christopher?"

I'd been chatting with Christopher using a private account, completely separate from my public Twitter profile.

Even Samara had no clue I was his mystery girl.

I came clean to her about everything, and her jaw practically hit the floor.

"Rosie actually dared to ride this wave? She's got some nerve," Samara blurted out.

Everyone knew Christopher was not someone one wanted to mess with. The guy was ruthless and didn't play around when it came to being lied to.

Even though I knew I was the one he'd been talking to online, I couldn't just own up to it.

After all, I'd not only blocked him, but I'd also called him an idiot.

Samara and I spent the whole night going back and forth, but we still couldn't come up with a solid plan.

I barely had time to throw on some makeup before the production team whisked me away to the show.

When I arrived, the place was buzzing. Everyone was gathered around Rosie, all eyes on her.

"Rosie. What's it like having an online thing with Christopher?"

"Wow, you really know how to work your magic."

"So, what's Mr. Grant like when the cameras aren't rolling?"

"Did you guys sort things out? Did you finally take him off your block list?"

Rosie's cheeks turned bright red as the questions kept coming.

She covered her mouth, playing it cute. "He still hasn't found me, so, yeah, he's still stuck on my block list."

Her answer left everyone stunned.

"Wait, you still haven't unblocked him?"

"You're probably the only one who'd dare treat Mr. Grant like that."

"Rosie must be spoiled rotten."

Rosie giggled with a bashful smile. "No way, you guys are exaggerating."

Everyone was obviously jealous.

I watched from the sidelines, frowning quietly.

She didn't take Christopher off her blacklist because, in fact, he was actually on my blacklist.

But the netizens were quick to catch my expression.

[What's with Sabrina's expression? She looks really upset.]

[Looks like she's super jealous of Rosie and Christopher's online romance. Can't even keep a straight face.]

[Guess she just doesn't have Rosie's luck.]

[Why'd the production team even bother inviting her? Just so we could watch her mope around?]

Rosie noticed me too.

She walked over with a bright smile. "Sabrina, you finally made it. The host said everyone's here now, and they're about to drop a huge surprise. We were all waiting on you."

I checked the time on my phone.

Filming was set for 8:30, and it was just after eight.

With all the drama about Christopher, I hadn't crashed until five in the morning, so showing up early was out of the question.

But I wasn't late.

But the netizens instantly picked up on Rosie's vibe.

[So Sabrina still hasn't dropped her diva act?]

[Everyone's stuck waiting for her. She really thinks she's the main character.]

[Rosie's a saint for waiting so long and still being nice to her.]

[Sabrina's so slow, might as well just boot her from the show.]

I almost rolled my eyes so hard they'd get stuck.

But I forced myself to keep it together.

I turned to the host and asked straight up, "So, what's this big surprise?"

The host gave a mysterious smile.

Suddenly, the big screen lit up.

It showed a screenshot of a Twitter post that had just gone up.

Just three minutes ago, Christopher had posted something.

[Going where you are.]

The post featured our show's logo.

The host grinned, practically bouncing with excitement. "Big news, everyone. Christopher Grant, CEO of Grant Group, is joining us on the show."

The internet exploded.

[Going where you are? Looks like he's chasing after Rosie right to the set.]

[Remember when Rosie said Mr. Grant hadn't found her yet, so she kept him blocked? And now he's actually coming on the show to find her? This is so sweet.]

[Christopher's schedule is always packed, but he just drops everything to show up on a reality show? If that's not love, what is?

[I can't believe Christopher's actually coming in person to sweep her off her feet. This is going to be so romantic.]
