Chapter 3
Zelda was really something else.
She had the guts to provoke me.
My gaze turned cold.
The Comments were full of sighs.
[Shelley is way too petty. Yonas had felt a bit guilty towards her. But after she embarrassed Zelda in public like that, he got pissed and immediately bought Zelda a super expensive diamond ring to cheer her up.]
[He didn't just buy Zelda jewelry—he got her a mansion, a luxury car, and even took her overseas for a honeymoon getaway. There, he bought her a private island and named it after her, just to make her happy.]
I narrowed my eyes at the Comments.
Perfect timing that they were on vacation. Now I wouldn't have to worry about Yonas trying to fight me over his inheritance.
After all, he could fake a will easily and make it impossible for me to get his assets.
But now that he was too busy spoiling his beloved to bother with the estate, things would be easy for me.
Without missing a beat, I called a lawyer. "I need you to liquidate all of my husband's assets immediately. And find out if he ever made a will."
After hanging up, I glanced at the Comments again, which were now exploding.
[What's going on? Why is Shelley suddenly checking Yonas' assets and looking for a will? Is she trying to take everything for herself?]
[If all the inheritance goes to her, how will Yonas spoil Zelda?]
[Don't worry. Yonas is so powerful—he'll find a way to take over the company.]
[Shelley is crazy about Yonas, and she has no clue how to run a company. Honestly, just because of Yonas' face, she'll probably hand the company over to him without a second thought.]
[Totally. Yonas is so talented, and Shelley loves him to death. He'll definitely talk her into hanging over the company. Then he'll shower Zelda with diamonds, luxury cars, mansions, yachts, private jets, treating her like a princess.]
I curled my lips into a cold smile.
The Comments must be telling jokes.
Yonas and Myles were twins, and both were seriously good-looking.
But their talents couldn't have been more different.
Yonas was a powerhouse in the business world, with over a dozen companies under his belt and assets worth billions.
Meanwhile, Myles was immersed in academia, spending his days in the lab. Although he had won plenty of awards, his wealth was a drop in the bucket compared to Yonas's.
Yonas had been pretending to be Myles, convinced that I was so crazy about him that after his "death," I'd be too heartbroken to ever recover.
He thought I'd hand the whole company over to "Myles" to run.
He'd got quite the imagination.
Legally, without a will, there was no automatic right for a sibling to inherit the estate.
With Yonas's parents both gone, as his legal wife, I was the rightful heir to all his assets.
I lost my husband and the love I thought we shared, but compared to the billions I now stood to inherit, that heartbreak was nothing.
With money and looks, I could easily find dozens of guys to help me get over my pain.
In this whole identity swap mess, I might be the biggest winner of all.

The lawyer I hired was the most professional—and the most expensive—in the business.
In no time, he handled all the paperwork and assured me that there was no legally valid will left by Yonas.
That meant that as his legal wife, I was the sole heir to all of his assets.
I let out a sigh of relief and immediately told my lawyer to start the inheritance transfer. Then I headed straight to the police station to have Yonas officially declared dead.
The Comments exploded with wails all over again.
[What the heck? Shelley just erased her beloved husband from existence like that?]
[How can she stay so calm and be this ruthless?]
[Can somebody go tell Yonas his company's about to change hands? He'd better stop cozying up to Zelda and get back here ASAP, or he'll end up flat broke.]
The inheritance process went off without a hitch. The day I officially got everything, Zelda sent me a video, trying to get under my skin.
She texted: [This island is gorgeous, and I like it. My husband said he'd buy it for me and even name it after me. He's so good to me. I love him so much.]
I let out a cold smirk.
Let's see if she could keep loving him when he couldn't scrape a single cent.
I called up the company's finance department. "Yonas has been officially declared dead. I want all his bank cards frozen."
The finance manager immediately agreed.
I added, "Check all his transaction records to make sure no one's been using his cards. If there are any large transactions after his death, report them to the police right away."
After that, I changed all the security codes and fingerprint locks on every property Yonas and I owned.
After I handled the last property, my phone rang.
I ignored it.
After several unanswered calls, Yonas started texting: [Shelley, pick up the phone! Why did you freeze Yonas's bank cards?]
Of course it was because I was going to teach this jerk a good lesson.
I still didn't reply. Ignoring all his frantic rants and complaints blowing up my phone, I sat down at my vanity and started glamming myself up.
An hour later, I showed up at the entrance of the same nightclub as last time—dazzling, in high heels, and driving a supercar.
I booked the biggest VIP suite and told the manager, "Open your most expensive bottles, and bring in all your gorgeous gigolos."
Before long, a dozen tall, long-legged hunks with eight-pack abs strode into the room.
Some poured drinks, some massaged my shoulders, and others kept the jokes coming to please me.
But I just couldn't really get into it. Somehow, it felt like there was something missing.
Halfway through my drinks, I stumbled to the restroom, feeling pretty buzzed. On my way back, I caught sight of a drop-dead gorgeous guy with a commanding presence, easily over 6'2".
