The thought pricked the softest part of my heart, like a needle.

I yanked the blanket over my head and curled up tightly, like a wounded animal retreating to its burrow.

I started losing sleep.

Every night, lying in bed, my mind felt like a radio stuck on, crackling with endless thoughts and voices.

"Lola, you're not good enough for him."
