Just then, my assistant Amy Parker walked over.

She had worked with me even before I married Lucas, and she had always been reliable. She was also involved in what happened today.

She stepped closer and nudged me slightly. "Hey, Lucas' parents just arrived. Should we go greet them?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Of course. They're my in-laws. I should welcome them."
