Chapter 1
My husband was about to have sex with his childhood sweetheart in a glass-walled public restroom.
In the bedroom, Lucas Carter had Melissa Hayes in his arms.
He leaned close and murmured, "The restroom uses one-way glass. Once the door's locked from the inside, we can see everything outside, but no one can see in."
He added, "When Tina brings the Carter Jewelry team over for the annual meeting, we'll slip inside. No one will have a clue what's happening. We can do whatever we want."
Melissa's cheeks flushed. She covered her mouth, eyes sparkling. "Honey, the company will be right outside, and we'll be in there. That's... a little too thrilling, isn't it?"
Lucas chuckled. "Isn't that exactly what you like?"
Melissa shyly buried herself in his chest.
I stood at the bedroom door, my fingers tightening into fists.
So this was the kind of thrill they were after. Fine. I'd make sure they got more than they bargained for.
I immediately had someone disable the one-way glass function in the restroom. Then I turned the annual meeting into a press conference.
And I invited every major media outlet I could reach.
They wanted excitement? Then let's make it a show the whole country can watch.

The next day, I arrived early and took my place outside the glass restroom, ready to host what was no longer an annual meeting but a full-scale press conference.
I married Lucas four years ago. Since then, I had gradually taken on responsibilities within Carter Jewelry.
I was good at what I did. Lucas, on the other hand, had long since stepped back, leaving everything in my hands.
His biggest job was just enjoying life.
Everything ran through me, including this conference.
Carter Jewelry had recently donated a batch of transparent mobile restrooms.
Holding the event here was meant to send a message that no matter how large the company grew, it still had a responsibility to give back.
Last night, I had gone to the bedroom to discuss final details with Lucas. Instead, I overheard something disgusting.
He was planning to sneak into one of these glass restrooms with Melissa and have a secret tryst while I stood outside hosting the event.
Good. If it were thrill they wanted, I'd give them something unforgettable.
So I changed the annual meeting into a press conference. And I made sure the entire country would be watching.
My phone suddenly rang, and I answered it.
It was Lucas, his voice raspy. "Honey, I'm sorry. I think I'm coming down with something. I can't make it to the annual meeting today. Can you handle it for me?"
"Alright, no problem," I said.
Lucas hung up quickly.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw two people in staff uniforms quietly slip into one of the glass restrooms.
Once inside, they immediately took off their disguises. Underneath the uniforms, it was Lucas and Melissa.
As soon as he stepped inside, Lucas grabbed Melissa and pulled her into his arms.
Melissa pushed him away for a moment, locked the restroom door from the inside, and then pulled him back toward her.
Once the door was locked, the restroom was supposed to switch modes. The clear glass would turn into a one-way glass. People inside could watch everything happening outside, while those outside would only see their own reflection, completely unaware of what was going on inside.
However, yesterday, I had someone disable the one-way glass function.
So now, even with the door locked, everything inside was fully visible from the outside.
That alone wasn't enough.
The next second, Lucas' voice suddenly rang out from inside, loud and unrestrained.
"Melissa, I haven't done anything this exciting in ages. I seriously can't wait."
His voice carried as if it were coming through a speaker.
Everyone, employees and reporters alike, turned toward the sound.
They quickly gathered around the glass restroom. People peered inside, whispering in confusion.
"Isn't that Lucas Carter? The CEO of Carter Jewelry?"
"Why is he with another woman in there?"
"Is this part of the press conference?"
"What kind of event is this supposed to be? And why is he so loud?"
Hearing the murmurs around me, I couldn't help but let out a quiet laugh to myself.
Inside the restroom, there was an SOS button. It was meant for emergencies. People inside could use it to call for help.
Originally, it allowed two-way communication between inside and outside.
But today, it had been tampered with.
There was no need to press anything. Every sound from inside carried clearly to the outside.
But those inside couldn't hear anything from outside.
I wondered who would have done that.
