Shawn Cole, the resident psycho of Oakridge, had a designer crystal casket hauled into the Law family foyer. He claimed he'd dreamed of Snow White's return. Whoever fit perfectly inside would become the next Mrs. Cole. The First Life: My older sister Melanie Law went first. Desperate to show off her curves, she squeezed into a skin-tight red couture gown and climbed in. Shawn stroked the glass lid with chilling tenderness before signaling his men to weld the seams shut with a blowtorch. "Princesses don't need to breathe while they sleep," he whispered. "Struggling is such an ugly look. Be a good girl now." The Second Life: My cousin Angela tried the innocent act. She wiped off her makeup and laid there like a corpse. Shawn gazed at her with haunting devotion then ordered his men to pump in half a ton of formaldehyde. "Beauty should be eternal," he murmured. "Rotting is a sacrilege. I'm going to make you my most perfect specimen." The Third Life: My stepmother Chloe decided to play the vamp. As she settled into the casket, she blew him a sultry kiss. Shawn's face twisted in disgust. He wiped his hands as if he'd touched something foul and had his men shove the casket—and her—off a thousand-foot cliff. "My Princess is pure," he spat. "Filth like you doesn't belong in her bed." By the fourth time, the women were hysterical. They jumped me, knocked me out, and shoved me into a white silk dress before throwing me inside. I woke up terrified, curled into a shivering ball at the bottom of the glass. To my horror, Shawn's eyes welled with tears. He pulled me out and threw the wedding of the century. But on our wedding night, he pinned me down with a hunting knife. "The legend says the hunter has to bring back the heart," he whispered, his blade tracing my ribs. "Let's see if yours is the one I've been looking for." The Fifth Life: Now I am staring at that same blinding crystal casket in the foyer. Shawn's lead assistant checks his clipboard and offers us a thin, professional smile. "Ladies," he says. "Mr. Cole is waiting. Who wants to go first?"
