Dmitri squeezes Ethan's hand again, but Ethan is standing up now, freeing his hand from Dmitri's grip, and Dmitri feels the loss acutely.

He's reaching for him before he's able to stop himself, but Ethan rises from the bed, panic suddenly evident with every stilted movement.

The movement, it turns out, is too quick for Ethan's hangover, and in another moment, Ethan's sitting down on the floor, pillow still clutched to his chest.

Dmitri's about to go to him, to help him back up, but Ethan is shaking his head, and Dmitri somewhat reluctantly stays where he is.
