I immediately dialed security. But this time, before they could arrive, the lock gave way with a sickening crack. Peter burst into the house like a wild animal. His eyes found me instantly, standing at the top of the stairs.

"You thought you could hide from me?" he roared.

He charged up the stairs, seized my wrist, and started dragging me down.

"You think just because my brother has your back, I won't touch you?" he snarled. "I'm telling you, Michelle, you're dead tonight."
