Edward's face went pale, all the color draining away.

"Anna..." he muttered.

"Edward, the wedding's off," I said, my voice steady.

He looked at me like he couldn't believe it. "Don't use this to mess with me."

"I'm not messing with you."

I grabbed my bag, almost surprised by how steady my voice was.

"I've already told the wedding planner. Tomorrow, I'll talk to the venue about canceling the reservation. I'll see how much we can get refunded. I'll cover any losses," I said.

Edward's calm facade finally shattered. He stepped forward and seized my wrist. "Anna, it's not what…
