Fighting through the pain, I was the first to rush to the doctor. No one knew Hailee's medical history and allergies better than I did.

An hour later, with the IV still in her arm, Hailee's fever had completely gone down. I felt a bit dizzy.

Blood had soaked through my shoes, and every step felt like a knife was slicing into my foot.
