Now, I finally gave Stefan all the freedom he wanted.

But guess what? He still wasn't happy.

As I turned to go back to bed, Stefan grabbed my arm.

The moment his hand touched me, he jerked back from the heat, startled.

That was when he finally noticed how unnaturally flushed my face was.

His eyes flashed with urgency. "Are you running a fever?"

My head felt heavy and my legs weak from the fever, so I closed my eyes and nodded.

"Yeah," I whispered. "Can you get me some medicine, or maybe take me to the hospital?"
