Divorce nowadays came with a cooling-off period. Without hesitation, I shot Lucas a text, letting him know that as soon as it was over, I was all set to finalize the divorce with him.

Once I had made up my mind, hesitation just didn't cut it.

I'd never been one to second-guess myself, but Lucas threw me off my game.

Yet, now that I had gotten my head straight, there was no room for doubt. However, it was evident that Lucas held a different view.

The very night I decided on divorce, I packed up my life and moved out.
