Before, no matter how busy, he kept Friday nights free.

They'd agreed—Friday was "dinner at home" night.

No eating out. No takeout.

They would cook together.

Even if it was just frozen pizza, they'd sit across from each other at the table and eat.

Starting year ten, he sometimes missed Fridays.
