For the next few days, I kept my eyes glued to my phone, and finally, late one night, I got the exact time I was supposed to leave.

At the rehearsal the night before the wedding, there was less than half an hour left until the time we set.

Seeing how spaced out I looked, Matthew assumed I was scheming something dirty.

"Don't get any funny ideas. If you mess up the wedding, there'll be consequences," he warned.

I snapped back to reality and gave him a half-hearted smile.
