Chapter 1
Chapter 1 Villainess Vibe: From Broke To Filthy Rich
Her head felt like someone had bashed her skull in with a brick.
Charlotte struggled to open her eyes. Above her hung an opulent crystal chandelier, its gentle glow making her head spin.
The air was filled with a subtle blend of cedar and rose. The silk sheets beneath her were impossibly smooth and soft, as if she were sinking into a cloud.
This definitely wasn't her tiny rental apartment.
Her old place only had a creaky ceiling light, faded cotton sheets, and the air reeked of leftover takeout.
Compared to the lavish scene before her, it was like night and day.
Charlotte pushed herself up and glanced around.
The enormous bedroom looked like something out of a five-star hotel's presidential suite.
The walls were covered in understated, luxurious light gray wallpaper, accented with gilded-framed art.
The closet door was half open, showing off rows of custom gowns and limited-edition handbags.
The shoe cabinet was lined with luxury brand heels, some she recognized, others she didn't.
The vanity was packed with high-end skincare and cosmetics, each one worth a small fortune.
She looked down at her hands. They were pale and slender, with delicate knuckles and nails that were perfectly rounded and neatly trimmed, glowing with a healthy pinkish hue.
These weren't her hands, the ones roughened by years of typing and chores.
She reached up to touch her face. Her skin was so smooth and supple it felt like she could pinch water from it.
Her features were exquisitely sculpted, her nose high and straight, her lips full and shapely. Even the hottest stars in showbiz would pale in comparison to this face.
Charlotte's heart skipped a beat. An outrageous, unbelievable thought suddenly shot through her mind. 'Wait, did I ... transmigrate?' she wondered.
And the body she'd landed in belonged to the villainess from that over-the-top CEO drama she'd binge-read last night, the one who shared her exact name: Charlotte.
Thinking about who the original owner was and how her story ended made Charlotte's skin crawl. She almost rolled right off the bed in shock.
The novel was called The CEO's Precious Darling, a typical cheesy CEO romance. It followed Emily, an ordinary girl who accidentally crashed into the world of the overbearing CEO Alexander.
After misunderstandings, the villainess stirring up trouble, and family drama, the two finally got their happily ever after.
And the original Charlotte? She was the classic, brainless, and most pitiful villainess in the whole book.
She was the only daughter of the ultra-rich Winters family, born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Gorgeous, filthy rich, and living a life most people could only dream of, her starting line was everyone else's finish line.
But for reasons nobody could figure out, she went absolutely crazy for the male lead, Alexander. She chased after him with a pathetic, obsessive love, willing to throw away her dignity, go against her parents, and piss off everyone for him.
Alexander couldn't care less about her. All he ever saw was the soft, sweet female lead, Emily. Driven mad with jealousy, Charlotte kept targeting Emily, pulling every nasty trick she could think of.
In the end, she completely infuriated Alexander, burned through the Winters family fortune, drove her parents into illness, bankrupted the company, and wound up ruined, homeless, and dying miserably on the streets.
She was the dumbest, most tragic, and least sympathetic cannon fodder villainess in the whole book.
Yesterday, while reading the novel, Charlotte couldn't help but rant at the screen, totally exasperated. 'she had billions and a dream life, yet wasted it all simping for a guy who didn't even like her back.
In the end, she ruined herself completely. Was she out of her mind?
But wow, karma really is a bitch. Who would've thought? After one night's sleep, she actually woke up as the very villainess she'd roasted a thousand times.
"Seriously?" Charlotte collapsed back onto the bed, face full of despair. "Of all the people I could've transmigrated into, it had to be this boy-crazy idiot? What kind of cursed luck is this?"
She grabbed at her hair in annoyance, but her fingers sank into a cascade of glossy, jet-black locks, so smooth it was unreal. 'Wait a minute.' Charlotte thought, her mind suddenly catching on something.
