I copied everything from the flash drive, then tossed the drive outside the restroom door, pretending James had dropped it by accident.

He didn't suspect a thing.

After that, I posted a story, saying I needed to send the bracelet in for repair. It gave me the perfect excuse to lock it away.

A few days later, James finally showed up with a face that was still swollen, trying to look pitiful as he suggested a weekend road trip. He called it "a little getaway to clear the mind." He even "kindly" added that Emily was welcome to join.
