The next morning, I was yanked out of sleep by my phone's blaring ringtone.

Who the hell was calling at the crack of dawn like it was a life-or-death emergency?

Still half-asleep, I groaned and reached for my phone on the nightstand, pawing at the air like a drunk raccoon, missing it again and again.

"Shhh… go back to sleep," Zane murmured, his warm hand gently patting my back.
