I looked up at David and said, word by word, “David Carter, you'd better let go right now.”

The look in my eyes made him flinch and let go on instinct, but his mouth kept running. “Don't put on airs with me. So what if you called people?

"This is my home, my parents' house. You think your city tricks will work in this village?”
