Synopsis

Three months in, I closed the company's biggest deal. I thought that pretty much guaranteed I'd get full-time. But then I waited. And waited. Three more months passed. Still getting paid like a temp, with the crappiest benefits. I went to HR. She didn't even look up. "Just wait." I was done waiting. The day a competitor reached out, I didn't think twice and said yes to the interview. Three rounds, all cleared. Double the pay, straight to permanent. I was clearing out my desk when my boss came running over, all excited. "Great news! Your full-time approval finally came through," he said. I just looked at him, calmly pulled my resignation letter out of the drawer, and handed it over.
