Charles didn't come looking for me in the days that followed, but I knew he was busy behind the scenes.

Several of J-Sense Design's partners unilaterally pulled out of their contracts. People inside the company were on edge, and a few key employees handed in their resignations. Trouble was brewing both inside and out.

This was Charles's way, pulling the rug out from under me and hoping I'd surrender without even putting up a fight.

Chris was freaking out. "Ms. Jameson, what are we supposed to do now? If this keeps up, the company's toast!"
