"A divorce?" Adam's voice took on a different edge.

"Yes," I replied.

"You can't be serious..." he said.

"I'm serious," I said.

He was silent for a few seconds.

"Babe, calm down. It's not that simple," he said.

"I'm calm," I replied.

"Can you come out? Let's talk face to face," he pleaded.

"I won't see you," I said, my voice cold and final.
