Chapter 1
I, Cecilia Snyder, was locked in the storage room for three whole days and nights.
There was no water, no food, and even my phone had been taken away.
Through the door, my husband, Simon Moran, coldly said, "I'll let you out once Sylvia cools off."
I sat against the wall, laughing bitterly. Tears streamed down my face.
On the fourth day, he came in with a gift. "Honey, I'm sorry."
Seeing that I wasn't in the room, he froze in shock.
The butler, James, rushed in, panicking. "Mr. Moran, Mrs. Moran has gone through immigration procedures and is now abroad."
Simon's hand trembled. The package fell to the ground.

The door to the storage room slammed shut. The sound of the lock clicking shut declared my solitude.
I stood in the darkness, listening to Simon's footsteps drifting away from the door.
"Mr. Moran, are you really going to lock her inside?" The housekeeper James's voice sounded in disbelief.
"She hit Sylvia," Simon said coldly.
"Sylvia had just had a miscarriage and was weak, but she rushed into the hospital to make a scene and even pushed Sylvia.
"James, tell her to calm down inside. I'll let her out once Sylvia calms down."
I sat against the wall. A smile came out of the corner of my mouth. I had been calm for three years.
For three years, he used work as an excuse every weekend to spend time with Sylvia Shelton. He cut my credit card limit from unlimited to 20 thousand dollars.
Even on Sylvia's birthday, when he showed up at her party wearing the custom-made suit I had bought for him, I kept a calm, composed smile on my face.
Until this afternoon, I received a call from a nurse. She said that someone had gone through the hospital procedures under Simon's name.
I rushed to the hospital and saw him holding Sylvia's hand.
He said, "Sylvia, I'm sorry, I didn't protect you well. The child is gone. It's all my fault."
Sylvia lay on the hospital bed, her face pale. Seeing me come in, her eyes flashed with pride. Then instantly turned into a grievance.
"Simon, I didn't mean to... I know Cecilia is your wife, but I'm really sad that my child is gone. I'm too fragile," she cried.
I stood in the doorway and watched the play.

For three years, he had never touched me. He had even spent our wedding night in his study.
He had told me that the person in his heart had always been his first love, Sylvia.
I had thought time could change everything. I believed that my kindness and care would win him over.
But now, Sylvia had been carrying his child. Even though she had miscarried, it had been enough to make me realize that the three-year marriage was nothing but a joke.
"Cecilia, hadn't you made enough of a scene?" Simon snapped.
He rushed out, grabbing my wrist. "Sylvia lost the baby, and you come here to cause trouble at the hospital? Do you have any compassion?"
I looked at him. "Is that your child?"
He paused for a moment, then looked away. "It's none of your business.
"Go home. I don't want to see you here," he shot back.
I laughed, "Simon, I'm your wife. Why can't I care?"
His face sank. "Cecilia, don't push me. You know you are only a wife in name. I married you because your father saved my mother.
"I owe you the Snyder family, and I will pay it back with money. But emotionally, I owe you nothing."
Every word stuck in my heart. I nodded. "Okay, I see." Then I turned and walked to the ward.
Sylvia was still crying. I went to her bedside. She looked up at me, her eyes full of provocation.
I raise my hand and slap her in the face. "After three years, did you really think I was still an easy target?" I scoffed.
Sylvia screamed, "Simon, she hit me."
Simon rushed in and pushed me away. I hit the wall. There was severe pain in my back.
"Cecilia, are you crazy?" He hugged Sylvia. He looked at me like he was looking at a madman.
"Security," he yelled. "Take her away."
Two security guards rushed in and dragged me out. I didn't resist. I just looked at Simon. "You will regret it," I said.
He sneered, "I regret marrying you."

Back at the Moran Manor, he asked James to put me in the storage room. No water, no food, and even my mobile phone was taken away.
When James came in, there was guilt in his eyes. "Mrs. Moran, Mr. Moran said you have to wait for Ms. Shelton to calm down."
I waved my hand. "It's okay, James. You go to work."
The door closed. Darkness swallowed everything. I sat on the ground, pulled out the spare phone hidden in my underwear. The screen lit up. There was an unread message on it.
It was sent by my lawyer, Desmond Carter. It read: [Cecilia, all the documents are ready. As long as you sign it, it can take effect at any time.]
I looked at the message. The corners of my mouth curled in a cold arc.
Simon thought that locking me up would leave me helpless and waiting for his mercy. He was wrong. These three days gave me the perfect opportunity to finish everything I needed to do.
I turned on my phone and started editing messages. In the dark, only the light of the screen illuminated my face.
Three years of enduring this had to end today.
