Chapter 4
I held on to the counter and walked back to the front desk step by step.
The soles of my feet were numb with pain.
I want to go steady.
Ethan has checked out the hotel.
As soon as the manager handed over my room number, he would soon be blocking my door.
There was no way I was going to be trapped a second time.
The strange man in front of me stood there and looked at me quietly.
I raised my empty left hand.
"That man claimed to be my fiancé. The ring is gone, and the wedding bed was burned by me. I clearly refuse to see him."
The man looked at me for two seconds, then turned to the manager on duty.
"Delete all inquiry records."
The manager nodded immediately.
"I'll handle it right away."
The man's voice was very soft.
"Whoever reveals her room number will leave Marlowe."
The manager turned pale.
"Understood, sir."
The man turned his face sideways.
"Take my people to stop you from trouble?"
I said.
"I paid for seven nights. Protecting guests' privacy is what hotels should do."
The man chuckled.
"You're quite good at taking advantage of situations."
I shook my room card and said.
"It's also my ability to use other people's strength as my own sword."
The man leaned forward and asked.
"Bennett has always done this to you before?"
I stared at him.
"Do you know Ethan?"
The man took back his hand.
"I have seen his information."
I said.
"Who the hell are you?"
Man.
"You'll find out tomorrow."
Ethan said.
"Lena, open the door. I brought the doctor."
I pressed the hotel's emergency call button.
"Someone is trying to force their way into my room."
The manager on duty answered through the receiver.
"Security has gone upstairs."
Ethan lowered his voice through the door.
"Do you have to make a big deal?"
I said.
"Yes. The bigger, the better."
I shouted through the door.
"The wedding is cancelled, the relationship is terminated. The whole thing is being recorded."
Doctor said.
"There is still glass, it must be taken out."
Man.
"Still need help?"
I said.
"Need an answer."
I said.
"Why are you helping me?"
The man glanced at my bandaged foot and said.
"You were injured in my hotel, and I will take care of it."
Only one embossed letter.
While the doctor was sewing stitches, I bit down on the towel, and my forehead was covered in sweat from the pain.
The security order left by the strange man is still in effect outside the door. Ethan knocked on the door, threatened, and moved out the lawyer, but the security guard blocked him away by saying.
"The resident refused to meet."
It turns out that rules can really protect people, only if those in power are willing to let them take effect.
I put the black business card on the bedside and didn't rush to call. You can take advantage of the situation, but the favor must be settled.
I'll wait until I find out who he is before I decide if I can hold this knife.
