"Just messing around?" The PE teacher glanced at him, then at me. "Are you insane?"

I bent down and picked up the baton.

"I'm fine," I said.

The PE teacher hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, let's get back to class."

I handed the baton off and moved to the end of the line.
