I left my mom in shock as I walked out the door.

I made my way to the spot where I'd agreed to meet Bruce.

Bruce had obviously been waiting for a while. When he saw me, he gave a sly smile.

"Look at you, all dolled up just for me?" he teased.

I shot back, "Don't get ahead of yourself. I just didn't sleep well, and I didn't want my zombie face to freak you out."
