I did not confront Adrian.

I called the laboratory director and asked her to preserve every sample, barcode scan, access log, and security recording connected to my test.

She began to tell me that privacy rules limited what she could release.

“I’m not requesting another patient’s information,” I said. “I’m placing you on notice that evidence connected to my test may have been altered. Preserve it. Let the regulator decide what can be disclosed.”

I sent the notice in writing while we were still on the phone and copied the fund’s independent compliance office.
