Chapter 1
Nancy was the entertainment world's one and only true angel, the only star with a spotless reputation.
She was gorgeous and genuinely kind. She didn't just donate money. She even guilt-tripped others into pitching in too.
When up-and-coming actress Tracy Sims refused to donate, saying she needed the money to pay for her sister's education, Nancy flew into a rage.
Nancy snapped, "People like you are ruining the whole vibe in showbiz.
"You're making money hand over fist, but you won't give a single cent.
"If everyone is this selfish, everything I stand for, all the kindness I've been fighting for, will be destroyed."
Tracy still refused to donate, and not long after, she was hounded by online trolls until she jumped to her death.
At the funeral, Nancy was a mess, crying her eyes out.
Nancy sobbed, "I said all that for the sake of everyone. Why did you have to be so weak? Why use your own death to drag my name through the mud?"
With just a few dramatic words, Nancy's saintly image shone even brighter, while Tracy's death faded into oblivion, no one cared anymore.
A year later, Nancy met me on a variety show, the girl who looked exactly like Tracy.
I was Tracy's little sister, Elena Sims.

When I suddenly showed up on the animal variety show "All Creatures Have Souls," Nancy was busy showing off her so-called special talent.
She picked up a hamster with a bright smile, and in no time, the hamster was fast asleep in her hands.
Nancy looked absolutely delighted, proudly showing off the hamster to the camera like it was her most precious find.
She said sweetly, "Even little animals can sense when people are kind. It fell asleep right away."
The other guests, who were just there to make Nancy look good, immediately started fawning over her.
"Wow, Nancy is seriously amazing. Even the animals can sense how genuine she is," one of them gushed.
"I heard Nancy always donates to animal charities. She even saved a stray cat not long ago," another chimed in.
Amid all the cheers and applause, I strolled into the center of the crowd with a poker face, kicked back casually, and glanced over at the big screen off to the side.
Meanwhile, Nancy's fans were going wild in the live chat, hyping her up like crazy.
A person wrote: [Let's all spam the chat. Nancy is the entertainment world's one and only true angel.]
Another person wrote: [This is live. There is no editing at all. Nancy is just so kind. Animals only sleep when they feel totally safe, and they totally vibe with her kindness.]
Someone else commented: [Our sweet Nancy is the kindest star in the whole industry. We'll always have your back.]
Watching all the praise roll in on the live chat, Nancy looked smugly satisfied. She finally pulled her gaze away from the hamster and scanned the room for the other animals that had been set up for her.
But when her eyes landed on me, she suddenly stiffened.
I knew she recognized me. The resemblance to my sister was unmistakable.
Before Nancy could get a word in, I stood up with a smirk and snatched the hamster right out of her hands.
"Stop gripping it like that. The little guy's practically passed out from fright," I said.
Instantly, Nancy's smile disappeared.
She snapped, "How did you even crash the set? And what's that supposed to mean?"
"We are filming right now. Get out of here."
Seeing her get all flustered, I curved my lips into a sly smile.
"Hello, Nancy. I'm your special guest today, Elena Sims," I said.
The moment she heard my name, Nancy's face fell, her expression turning ice-cold.
She snapped, "Who's in charge here? How did this lowlife get on set?"
I got dropped into the show by the investors. It didn't need the director's approval at all.
So Nancy only knew there'd be a new guest today, but she had no idea it'd be me.
Seeing Nancy's shocked face, I just kept smirking.
I said, "Aren't you supposed to be the kindest celebrity around? So why the attitude the second you see me?
"If I'm a lowlife, does that make you high and mighty? Nancy, I never would've guessed that behind that angelic facade, you've been judging people and putting them into categories all along."
Hearing my sarcastic accusation, Nancy forced a grin.
Nancy said, "Not at all. You just popped up out of nowhere and grabbed my animal buddy. I was really caught off guard."
As soon as she said that, the live chat flipped on me, everyone jumping in to roast me.
A person wrote: [Is this chick crazy or what? She just barged in and snatched Nancy's pet. Talk about no manners.]
Another wrote: [Nancy is so gentle that she even calls the little animals her friends. She really is the entertainment world's one and only true angel.]
Someone else asked: [Who is Elena anyway? What gives her the right to just show up on Nancy's variety show?]
Nancy shot a quick glance at the live chat, then played the damsel in distress, putting on her most innocent, vulnerable look.
She said, "So you're the rookie who got parachuted in thanks to your connections, huh? It's okay, I won't blame you for it."
With that, she stepped forward, reaching out, trying to take my hand as if we were close friends.
I slipped away before she could grab my hand, giving Nancy a cold, hard stare.
I said, "You were about to freak out your animal buddy. I just saved it, so why are you blaming me?"
